Hotels in English Harbour

"The beach and pools were beautiful and clean. The rooms were dirty. There were hairballs and dust everywhere. Did not want to go barefoot in the shower. Breakfast was good but crowded. Lunch options were very limited. And food took a long time. We stayed 3 nights and could not get a reservation at the pizza restaurant because they had no room for the group of 7 of us on any night which was ridiculous. Many of the tourists there you could tell were very cheap and trying to save pennies. So they probably booked the pizza place in advance every night they were there. We just wanted the opportunity to eat there one night. Oh well. Some of the staff were nice, but most didn’t want to be there and were rude to me. I tipped a lot so not sure why. Also do not get a pedicure. My friend got a pedicure and the woman took 2 hours to do a sloppy job, leaving her with nail polish all over her toes. Anyway I’ll be visiting Antigua again but not Jolly Beach. I’d rather pay more for better food and more hospitable service. "

"The bathrooms in common areas were not cleaned, the hotel ran out of beach and pool towels in the middle of the day, there were cups and dirty plates left by guests that were not picked up and staff were a hit or miss. "

"Stunning property, buildings and rooms. The beach is small and the sunbeds on the beach and by the pools are almost on top of each other. For that reason, although it’s a gorgeous property with incredible hospitality, I probably wouldn’t book here again. Unless, I was able to book Diamond. That area seemed to have more personal space."

"What a wonderful stay! The cottages are steps from the beach (you wake up to the sound of the waves every morning) and picture perfect. The check-in process was seamless, and our host helped us with anything we needed for our stay. The room was clean and spacious, with lovely decor and amenities. Don’t hesitate to book a stay at Galleon Beach Resort! "

"This is absolutely one of the worst places to vacation in Antigua, after staying in many other resorts in Antigua, this is by far the worst. The staff is very unprofessional and unfriendly. The food is the worst I have ever seen. We literally went out to dinner every night after the first night, even though it’s supposed to be an all inclusive. It was so bad. Their very limited dinner menu has mostly pork and if you want to eat lobster or steak it’s an extra charge. My wife ordered the steak and she said it tasted like dried out rubber. When we arrived at the resort, we sat at the dock to have a drink, and we were fumigated with mosquito spray and even got into our drinks. After numerous complaints to the management and asking them for a copy of the ingredient list of the spray to see if they poisoned us, they refused to give it to us and told us to call the central Board of Health. I called the Central Board of Health and they gave me the runaround and basically refused to give us any information about what mosquito spray was approved. Basically this country is corrupt. The people are corrupt. Nobody accepts any responsibility. I would not recommend this resort to anyone."

"We had the Best room !! Facing the ocean and right over teh beach area. ALL areas of teh resort were very well maintained and cared for. Staff was Very friendly and super nice and the food was delicious. Highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a relaxing getaway !! We Loved it so much that we've already booked again for next year !!"
