The food and dining in Jeonju offer a culinary scene that attracts foodies from all over and marks the village as one of the restaurant capitals of South Korea. The traditional cuisine here has spread across the country. This is the birthplace of bibimbap, or rice bowls served with vegetables and spicy red pepper paste.

Makgeolli is huge in Jeonju, with no fewer than seven streets called makgeolli towns, lined with bars serving this fermented rice spirit. For dessert, be sure to try Coco pie, one of the most popular packaged snacks in the nation. For the best, head to the oldest bakery in Jeonju, PNB Bakery.
