Corfu

Corfu is an island off the northwest coast of Greece in the Ionian Sea that is defined by rugged mountainous terrain, lots of luxurious resorts and a cultural melting pot. The island spent hundreds of years under Venetian, British and French rule before officially becoming part of Greece in the mid-19th century, and the mixed heritage shows through on every city street. Corfu Town showcases Venetian influence in its twin fortresses, an arcade in the French style and the British-influenced Palace of St. Michael and St. George.

The Achilleion is a palace dating to the 1800s that houses a museum and formal gardens. The Cathedral of Saint Spyridon has a soaring bell tower and dates to the 1500s. To get panoramic views from a breathtaking historic building, the New Venetian Fortress offers photo opportunities that will light up your Instagram feed. For some modern family fun, Aqualand Corfu Water Park offers a spa, dining, water slides and rides.
