"We travelled here in March 2026. The entire Bahia Principe property is massive. The Luxury Esmeralda was just right. We travelled with our children and it kept everyone happy. The on site Water Park is perfect for toddlers/pre-school children. The pools and beachfront are beautiful. The staff were hit and miss- the more you tip the better your service is. The a-la-cartes were delicious but poorly serviced/staffed. Many of them only had washrooms outside which was a bit challenging with littles and were often unkempt. The swim up room was worth it. The rooms look much bigger online but were still spacious and modern. Check-out was chaotic and left my husband feeling frustrated. So many people coming in and out every day the lobby was hectic and staff often seemed overwhelmed. Overall, had a great time and would revisit. "

"I usually stay at Riu Palace Macau, but it was sold out. I chose this Riu Palace Punta Cana and was pleased overall with everything. The bed was a bit hard compared to most and I wish they had tubs in addition to the shower. The water pressure from the rainfall shower head was a bit low, but sufficient. They upgraded me to a better room location which was very nice considering it was a late reservation and only the basic rooms were available when I booked. I stick to Riu Palace locations all over the world as they seem to be consistently good, fun and great staff. My top favorites are: Riu Palace Kukulkan (Cancun) Riu Palace Baja California (Cabo San Lucas) Riu Palace Macau (Punta Cana) These seem to have exceptional properties a step above all the others."

"This Resort is beautiful! The staff were great, and the beach was gorgeous! We had a swim up suite and loved it! The only thing I would have liked differently was the pool being a little warmer, the water was freezing, but we did go in March. We would definitely go back! Our Butler was very accommodating, and checked in on us multiple times a day. "

"Very clean property and attentive staff. Room mini bar was stocked daily with free water bottles and beverages. Food was very good and better than other inclusive resort foods but the only option for breakfast and lunch was at the buffet. One of the buffets was only open to privilege guests so not much options of food during the day. Also staff were a bit pushy with the “courtesy gifts”. However, resort was beautiful and I would recommend."

"Air conditioning would not shut off on either unit, elevator was down 3 of our 4 days, had to repeatedly request regular coke instead of Coke Zero. Food was meh, we won’t return"
