"It was a great stay with ONE Large exception. I reported a suspected key theft while away from the hotel and gave very clear instructions to staff when I called the front desk to lock down the room immediately. They didn't and I arrived to find rental car keys, laptop and my passport stolen. It was no one from the hotel but had they locked it in the system, none of this would have happened. The manager came from home to assist and was great along with the staff on duty later in the night. Other than that incident, I would have given 4 stars at least. And I am partially to blame for leaving the card exposed"

"This was the second time we stayed at this resort. Food is excellent. Beach is beautiful. "

"My experience at Riu Palace Riviera Maya was extremely disappointing and did not meet expectations. The food quality was consistently poor. Most meals were bland or unappetizing, and we found ourselves skipping meals throughout our stay. Breakfast was the only acceptable option, though still average. We upgraded to the “Elite” level expecting an enhanced experience; however, the only noticeable benefit was access to higher-quality liquor. The designated “Elite” pool lacked food service, entertainment, and overall atmosphere, while the standard pool offered a much more engaging experience. This discrepancy made the upgrade feel unjustified. The beach conditions were also subpar, with significant amounts of seaweed that appeared to be minimally maintained by the resort. Additionally, pricing and service issues further impacted our stay. When inquiring about extending one night, we were quoted $1,000—equivalent to the cost of our five-night stay. After booking externally, a minor reservation error (one guest instead of two) resulted in a proposed $600 charge to add a second person. Resolving this took approximately four hours. During this time, front desk staff displayed unprofessional behavior, including laughing and pointing, which was inappropriate. Overall, this resort did not provide the quality or service expected. I would not recommend staying here."

"Quiero agradecer sinceramente a todo el equipo de Experiencia del Huésped de Sandos Playacar por hacer de nuestra estancia algo verdaderamente especial. Desde el primer momento nos hicieron sentir como en casa, siempre atentos, amables y con una actitud increíble. Un reconocimiento muy especial para Melisa, Zyanya, Majo y Mar, quienes estuvieron pendientes de cada detalle y siempre con una sonrisa. Su dedicación y calidez marcaron la diferencia en nuestras vacaciones. También queremos destacar a Carlos, en el bar de la piscina de adultos, quien nos atendió de maravilla, siempre amable, rápido y con excelentes bebidas que hicieron nuestros días aún más agradables. Sin duda, gracias a todos ustedes nos llevamos recuerdos inolvidables y momentos maravillosos. "The property in impeccably designed and maintained. This is my third time there and they never disappoint. Nomads took an excellent care of you. Kasandra was very attentive to all our requests and made all desired arrangements for us. The rooms were very comfortable, large and clean. The views from the balcony are breathtaking. All restaurants were very tasty and great professional staff. We are very pleased with our vacation and can’t wait to get back next year."
