The hotel, restaurant and coffee shop were bustling with New Year revellers. The hotel accommodation is rustic. Rooms are bit too small for the size of the beds - no space for luggage. Plenty of options for a pint or a bite to eat, either in the hotel itself or in the village. Great spot for scenic walks and the smokehouse at the back does some great fayre. Staff are friendly and accommodating.

Atmospheric bar & restaurant, beautifully appointed room. Breakfast was incredible! I looked forward to my smoked salmon every morning. Husband had the vegetarian breakfast and said it was also excellent. I liked the system of selecting breakfast the night before. The town is super walkable with location next to the peaceful & romantic waterfalls. Outdoor tables packed with people gave it an energetic but casual hub-of-the-village vibe. Hallway carpeting (with old water stains?) and walls showing some wear & tear, but nothing that impaired function or charm. Good value.

The stairs to the bedrooms were very steep with inadequate handrails. It was very difficult to climb the stairs whilst carrying luggage. The bedroom was very small and cramped making it difficult to move around. There was no carpet in the bedroom.
