Not what expected

Over all I didn’t love this place at all. They don’t bring you enough wash cloths and towels. You have to keep asking and still don’t come. Suppose to have been on the adult only side and there were kids, I guess they over booked themselves. Rooms not cleaned daily. Customer service not as expected for the price point of this hotel. Their staff uses no English and doesn’t even try. Been sick on the toilet for 2 days not sure what’s in the food. Food restaurants doesn’t feel like service you feel like your being a burden on staff. Half my tv was blacked out even after coming to change it out. Bathrooms around resort were disgusting tp say the least!!!! I would recommend this place!!!! Over price and not worth the money!!!

Resort Stay Review – Extremely Disappointed Over the past twenty years, I’ve stayed at more than 30 resorts, so I have a good sense of what to expect. While this resort was scenic and the rooms were visually appealing, several serious issues during my stay ensure that I will never return. 1. Booking Issues & Poor Customer Service I originally booked a stay from June 17 to June 22 directly through the Lopesan website. My wife and I double-checked all the details before finalizing, knowing it was a nonrefundable booking. However, when I received the email confirmation about 10 minutes later, it listed the wrong dates — in October, which would be impossible for us to travel. I immediately attempted to call their customer service but could not get through. The next day, I reached a representative who promised to escalate the issue. Two days later, I was told there would be no refund and that I could only correct the dates if I paid an additional $700, despite clearly inputting the correct information initially. The representative made it sound like the mistake was mine. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, I was conveniently disconnected twice. We ultimately rebooked via Hotels.com so we could still attend a friend’s birthday. I have attached the receipt from Hotels.com showing the correct dates. Frankly, the whole experience with Lopesan’s website and customer service felt deceptive, and I now question the legitimacy of their online booking platform. 2. Cleanliness & M

The property is beautiful…definitely plan to walk everywhere. Use the map they give you because it’s ALOT of shops and activities and restaurants on site. The food at the buffet is ok…there are plenty options including vegan…we made reservation at the steakhouse. It was good. The room was beautiful. We had the swim up suite. The staff was wonderful and hospitable. There is a language barrier so download google translate.

The Lopesan Costa Bavaro Resort is beautiful, especially at night with all of the lighting and water features. It’s also nicely laid out and affords various types of pools, bars, and restaurants to accommodate families, couples, and friends. Staff were friendly and attentive for the most part, though it could be challenging to get drinks while at the pool or beach from servers who seemed overworked as they took numerous orders at one time, which meant 30+ wait times for drinks. Lots of seating at the beach and by the pools was a plus. Check-in for adults only took quite a while and was a bit intense and unclear. We brought our 18 year old daughter with us for a graduation gift and the opportunity to enjoy adults only fun, but were met with a lot of questioning about her age. We booked adults only and learned that unfortunately that meant we would be in the furthest corner of the resort and at a distance from most of the entertainment since it seems the resort has more options for families than adults only. Apparently we could have upgraded to the unique option too with a closer room, better towels and beach bar access, but no one even mentioned this during check-in. Overall good stay for a first time at an all inclusive resort.

Beautiful property! This isn’t a 5 star review mostly because of staff… Our experience with staff wasn’t the best. We came to find out only in our check in that most of the restaurants, with exception of the buffet, needed a reservation, but in order to make a reservation you need to be checked in. Well, majority of the restaurants didn’t have availability for the same night and others not until 4 days in advance. The resort didn’t seem to be full, I had a hard time understanding the reservations policy with so many restaurants…

It was my first time at an all inclusive resort and honestly this one has been 10/10.. the staff, the resort itself, the entertainment, the room space, the view.. just everything was great.. check in and check out were long, and the pools close early however there are plenty of other things to do on the property..

The property was advertised as adults only. I read a paragraph that said children 18 and younger were not allowed on the property. There were children all over. My friends and I would not have booked this property if we knew that children were allowed. The buffet was horrible. Food was undercooked and cold most times. Specialty restaurants were good. We left the property twice for breakfast. The wait staff were attentive and polite, but my room wasn't cleaned for the first 2 days of my stay. I had to stop a woman in the hallway and ask her to clean my room. My refrigerator wasn't working and my TV wouldn't shut off. They replaced my refrigerator and TV remote the next day. I didn't get my upgrade as a gold customer. Someone called and apologized, and said they didn't have any upgrades available. They gave me a fruit plate and a bottle of champagne for the inconvenience, but I don't drink alcohol. The overall property was nice but we won't be staying there anymore.
