Excellent location right beside Morioka station. The staff was very good and the breakfast was good. The only reason for not giving 5 stars was that I don't really like the machine-check in they've switched to. There are Front Desk staff standing right there watching me check in on the machine--it's very impersonal and probably a little less efficient because I didn't know the process clearly. Perhaps it'll be a little smoother in the future, but overall, seems like the machine-based check-in / out system is not really needed when the staff are right there (unless they're planning to cut staff, which would be a bad move). Overall, I'd stay there again, but in a slightly bigger room choice I think.

This hotel was well priced, had a very convenient check in using an automated system. You could get a disposable toothbrush razor comb along with facial cleaning products and tea, ice water and vending machine products in the lobby. The air conditioning was very cold which I loved. The room was very clean. And included a humidifier and tea kettle which were nice. The desk was also useful. The bed and pillows were a little too firm for me and this was the only thing I would change. It was also very quiet. The breakfast was delicious Japanese breakfast with lots of variety and different every day.

There’s plastic smell in the room. The kettle also gave off strong plastic when used. I’m sorry to have to give this comment. However, it is important to provide a ‘clean air’ environment to sleep in. Other than this, other things are as expected. I am a first time user of this hotel. Thank you!

Convenient hotel across the JR Morioka Station

The hotel was conveniently located steps away from the JR station. Morioka has no subway, so aside from the JR station, accessing other parts of the city requires walking, taxi or bus. The hotel is adjacent to many good dining options near the station, and is a 20-minute walk to Iwate Park. As for the hotel itself, I found the room pleasant, and was fortunate to be assigned a room with a view of Mt Iwate. The room was a standard size for a Japanese hotel and had the basic features. It was comfortable overall and I had no complaints. The hotel offered a complimentary breakfast and it was decent. It had mostly Japanese fare which I didn't mind, but for someone used to eggs and sausages, it would be a bit disappointing. The staff were very pleasant and polite, and they made the stay extra nice. A good hotel and I would consider again if I needed to stay in Morioka again.
