A decent hotel

Summary: A decent choice if location is of highest priority else I would prefer a Marriott or any other chain hotel in FiDi if similarly priced. Good: Location | Clean | Comfortable | Really good everyday room cleaning | King bed was nice and comfortable Bad: Too small rooms | Hotel is too small without any amenities | Mosquitos if you open windows as there are no wire mesh | no source of fresh air as the windows open to some internal alley that does not seemed to be cleaned for ages | Closet smells from lack of any air circulation

We stayed for the US Open, it was convenient, clean, and comfortable. Rooms are small, hotel does not have all the bells and whistles of the big ones, but for what we needed it was great. Highly recommended, would stay here again.

HGU=Horrible. Grifters. Unprofessional.

The WORST hotel experience in my 70 years on this planet. The front desk person on the AM of my second day was worse than rude and totally unprofessional. She refused to release my partner’s car which had been valet parked the day before without being given a claim ticket. My partner had to call the police to get her car. I was about to leave for the US Open for the day when I was told that I was being kicked out and had to find other accommodations. I was uninvolved in the car argument but was nevertheless kicked out. Needless to say this ruined my US Open experience and 3 day/2 night visit to NYC. I had previously stayed here several times before without incident. Until the staff is replaced with competent people who understand customer service and adhere to the notion that “the customer is ALWAYS right” no sane person should ever patronize this abomination of a hotel

Over charged card.

They overcharged the card they demanded at check in. they said there would just be a 200 dollar hold on the card but they ran it with the extra charge. Then they ran the extra charge again, Then they charged us for a robe that was left on the hook in the bathroom.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The rooms are pretty spacious for being in Manhattan, and the bed was big and comfortable. It was also thoroughly cleaned daily. Although we only went up once, the rooftop with views of the Empire State was nice.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It's a small property with not too many guests, which makes it feel very peaceful. Many of the rooms have windows facing the inside of the building, so it's wonderfully quiet. The staff were extremely kind and even allowed us to check in earlier than scheduled since our room was already ready. There's also a café in the lobby that opens very early, which was perfect for starting the day. The location is perfect - close to everything, yet still quiet and relaxing.

7 Night Solo City Break

I chose this hotel from a well travelled family member recommendation. It was without doubt in an excellent location! Entrance to the subway was 100m away and it was a 10 minute walk from Grand Central. Empire State Building was equally a 10 minute walk. The bed was very comfortable and they service you room daily as standard, unlike other local hotels! I was staying for 7 nights and if I had to pick a negative it would be the insistance of a credit/debit card to the tune of $400 on arrival or they would not release the room to me, even though they had been paid through this site a fortnight in advance. I was informed that $200 was for the 'Locally collected mandatory fees/taxes*' on top of the similar amount already paid on purchase. The second $200 on top of the mandatory fees was for the security deposit. Just be sure your card can withstand such a hit on arrival or you may have difficulty. I was informed on leaving that the $200 security deposit would be returned to me via transfer and if it is an international bank account then it could take upwards of 3 weeks. A lovely hotel in a central location.
Nice rooftop area, it's not a bar. You can purchase one of 4 or 5 items from reception but you may wish to bring you own.

Disappointed Stay

The water pressure in our room was horrible, I complained about three times and nothing was done. Our refrigerator made a lot of noise. I come to NYC twice a year for business and I can in advance and request a room that I have stayed in before that was decent but they didn't accommodate. I stay at the hotel for the location only. Also, the rooms don't have enough outlets for today's day and age when we have to charge our devices, etc... The outlets that do exist are occupied with the lighting in the rooms.
