Quiet and classy stay by the sea

The hotel is simply awesome, staff is super friendly and polite. Service is like clockwork and extremely professional. Rooms are very comfy and clean, hotel facilities and in perfect condition and they pay attention to all details so you really feel at home. THE STAFF WERE AMAZING, GREAT SERVICE AND MANAGEMENT TEAM WERE VERY EXPERIENCE AND EXTREMELY HOSPITABLE, THEY ALL MADE OUR STAY VERY ENJOYABLE. We stayed at this property less than one month after they opened and it was wonderful. The staff was very attentive and friendly. The resort was gorgeous. We highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a place to relax on / near the beach.

Our stay at The Chedi El Gouna was remarkable. So good, that we decided to extend our stay. The hotel grounds are impeccably maintained. Our room was a Beachfront room practically sitting on the beach sand. The entire staff has one priority: to please their guests! The property has just opened so the staff need more training. The building is an existing one and it was renovated so I think it could've been better. The breakfast area staff was really good, however, the pool and beach staff need intense training. The hotel has very little food choices. I would not stay there again.

Whilst the quality of the food is good there is very limited options. In the evening the only options are a buffet (average quality) or Japanese (which is very good). Staff on the front desk are average. On three occasions they didn’t know answers to our questions and promised to come back to us and then didn’t. Further, we wanted to book the Japanese restaurant one evening and reception informed us it was fully booked. A few minutes later we walked to be restaurant and was told there is availability. Just seems the reception staff can’t be bothered, some are also arrogant.

I’ve recently returned from a week at The Chedi El Gouna and it was quite simply the best holiday I have ever been on: I’m already planning my return and cannot recommend it enough to anyone else who may be considering a stay there. I’ve travelled solo as a woman to many places over the years and I’ve never felt so welcomed and safe as I did at The Chedi, or El Gouna. The whole staff were so kind and attentive, and really went over and above to ensure that I had everything I needed and more throughout my stay. From the guest relations team (including Mario who led a great boat trip round El Gouna) to the restaurant team (including the lovely Milanya who I so enjoyed talking with each day), the bar team (including Mohamed who many times made my favourite cocktail for me off-menu), the spa team (including Christina and Magda), the lifeguards and waiting staff (who were so kind and helpful in indulging my early stages of learning Arabic and helping me with it), and housekeeping (who arranged fresh flowers on my bed each day), nothing was too much trouble. The attention to detail at The Chedi is exemplary. It is a great environment maintained to the highest standards and set on a beautiful beach with easy access to El Gouna’s marinas. If you are considering booking a holiday here: you must! Thank you to all at The Chedi for your efforts in making last week one of the best of my life. I hope to see you again soon!

They make each guest feel so special at this place. The attention you get is incredible. I can’t recall not one single mistake or imperfection. What's so special about, on top of cleanliness, is the staff’s performance and behaviour. Even though it was Ramadan and most of the staff were fasting, they were always super sweet, alert, dedicated and very hospitable. Fully functional and efficient despite the fast and the high temperature. Always smiling and offering you the best service. Super generous as well. They tend to pamper you with snacks every now and then unexpectedly (popcorn bucket, juices, fruits…). We didn’t have to complain once. Always smiling. Special thanks to ROMANI and Mahmoud at the reception, Mahmoud and Mostapha by the beach, Mohamad by the pool and beach house, and Amr for housekeeping, Kareem at the breakfast. I hope I did not forget anyone. Ask for the beach front room.
