Needs attention

I’ve stayed here several times before, but this most recent stay left me disappointed. The faucet in the shower needs work, the floors in the bathroom didn’t looked properly mopped, you could see the dirt pushed to the corners. The remote to the TV didn’t work and the buttons on the side of the TV didn’t work properly. Most of the channels were “audio only” (as displayed on the TV). The mini fridge door and microwave needed good cleaning and not just a wipe down.

Weekend Pool & Grill Escape

Meeting a friend from across Texas. We had a decent meal at Central Station Bar & Grill just minutes away. Took in a movie at the Grand. Spent the next day at the Black Gold. Pool is clean . We grilled steaks poolside on the charcoal grill. Staff made sure our room was close to the pool for this. The free hot breakfast was not awesome: Biscuits only1 morning, and no gravy. The place is clean, well maintained, and comfortable.The price, even on a holiday weekend was exceptional. The staff friendly and eager to help. We would come back.

A small town hotel that doesn’t live up to the price it charges. Towels are dingy,bed spreads look clean on the surface but are old and overused.My brother didn’t even have a lock on his door and I know it’s the same room my daughter stayed in last year cause she had the same problem that they said they were going to fix and now it’s a year later with the same problem.Not a lot of options in Yoakum so I guessing that’s why they can be like this.

Nasty floor! Continental Breakfast horrible, stale, had to ask for milk. No butter for the hockey puck hard bisquets. No fruit.

Powder cleaner residue was still in the tub, towels looked dirty but smelled clean. Room and hotel seems to have tons of potential to be very esthetic and quant with more up keep. Staff was super friendly and pleasant but over all seems to be a decent hotel for the town.

Flith and disgust!!

Make the drive to Cuero for a room. While the pictures look nice and the rooms at first-very quick glance appear decent, they are not. We had a huge party staying at the Black Gold and not one person didnt have an issue. Personally- it started with unknown spots on the bedding and upon further review, it was just nasty. Manager kindly moved our room, however the next, the toilet didnt work. 3rd times a charm right, nope- so we moved to another hotel. Manager says she is trying but is well aware of the flith and conditions. Take a second thought to staying as I wish I orgianlly followed my gut and made the very quick drive to Cuero to start with. Hotels.com was freat with assiting the cancelation during the stay**
