Great value for no-frills lodging

Wonderful location in La Fortuna with an excellent view of the volcano. The reception desk was very helpful and let us check in a little early to accommodate the timing of our travel. Parking is onsite and reserved for hotel guests so there was no issue. The room (1 queen) was pretty no-frills, the plumbing was a bit outdated. Bed was comfortable. Great option for the value, and if you just need a place to lay your head and be centrally located in La Fortuna, this is a great option.

Everything was perfect. Rocio was welcoming, thoughtful, helpful, and super organized. Prior to my arrival, she responded to all my questions online which made me feel more at ease traveling solo to a new city. The room was clean, safe and comfortable. And the location was great if you wish to be close to the center of town. I’ve traveled throughout Costa Rica and nobody and nothing compares to Rocio and the Regina Hotel.

Staff was very friendly! Room was okay, but no hand soap was provided, the pillows were extremely flat and uncomfortable, and the shower water hardly warmed up. There was also loud music playing from a bar nearby both nights of our stay, so it was quite difficult to sleep.

Rocio is awesome!

Rocio was wonderful!!! She really made me feel comfortable. The ac works fine, but you have to give it some time. There are a couple of English tv stations but bring a sound machine because the motorcycles are very loud. Modest accommodations, great location and again, Rosio!!!!!!

I highly recommend this hotel. Property with NEW OWNERSHIP! Excellent and extremely knowledgeable customer service. They have it all tours, transportation, recommendations, etc. The rooms are super clean and fresh. Amazing towel sculptures and toilet paper art in the bathroom!!! Restaurant, bars and convenience store infront and on the sides of the hotel. LISA AND ROSSIO MADE MY STAY MEMORABLE. The hotel is getting more upgrades, therefore, I can not wait to see it and enjoy it.

The reviews are not lying, the noise is a LOT. I wear earplugs every night anyways so I wasn’t too bothered but I could still hear it through them. If you’re a light sleeper choose somewhere else for sure. Other than that, it’s a great location, staff is absolutely lovely, room is spacious clean and comfortable, breakfast was good but not if you’re in to a BIIIIIG breakfast, nice snack before heading out. They gave us a cacao pod to take to our next location! Love Regina.

I am a solo traveler exploring Costa Rica for the first time and chose Regina Hotel based on the reviews in which they reported how helpful the staff was. From the moment I walked into the hotel, Rocio offered suggestions for activities/transportation, allowed me to drop my luggage-off early to explore and then let me check-in to my room early. On my last night, my shuttle to another city cancelled around 5:00 pm and Rocio called around and helped me figure out a solution for the next 1 1/2 hours. Not only did she call businesses for me, she later sent detailed bus directions (with photos) to my WhatsApp to help me the next day while I traveled. The hotel is spotless, rooms are large with good storage, it’s conveniently located near everything you need and I felt safe as a female traveler. Highly recommend and thanks to Rocio for an amazing stay in Fortuna!
