Amazing location, free parking (in a town where parking is VERY hard to come by), beautiful property with excellent restaurant. The biggest knocks were on the room itself. We were in a room on the historic side, so I think it may be different on the new one. Note to reader, this place is more a 4.5 star than a 4 star, but of course that's not an option.
Despite the entire property being recently renovated, the bed itself was substandard - a very lumpy/well worn mattress made it hard to have a comfortable sleep. The choice of a very dim chandelier and reading lights made it hard to see anything beyond the immediate area. The shower was great but the hand sprayer was broken/clogged and shot out one side. The TV also wasn't set up properly so the viewing area was actually wasn't full screen on a relatively small unit for the room's length.
None of these were deal breakers and we'd absolutely stay there again, but we'd want to try and be on the new side, as I suspect those beds and room issues are probably less pronounced.
