Beautiful view from the room and staff were friendly. The room could have been cleaner. We ran out of water in the morning as well as the kitchen. The included breakfast was really good and the dining room was very pleasent.

The room is clean but it’s not the room I booked. We booked a king bed with waterfront view but when we arrived they only had a room with 2 queens or a king bed with no view. The worst part is the water has been off since last night so we can’t shower or have coffee.

Booked 5 rooms for a family wedding. Confusion on the names assigned to the rooms. Despite being told we didn't want our room cleaned, it was entered anyways. One of the rooms had gurgling brown water coming up from the tub. Quality of the finishing in the rooms itself is subpar. No strainer in the bathroom sink makes losing stuff a concern. Hot water in the shower inconsistent, temps would fluctuate on their own. On the plus side, the rooms were clean, the bed was comfortable...the view of the lake and the property itself is nice. The hot breakfast was overall decent, but disappointed with the lack of a waffle station and the "Mystery meat" bacon had no flavor. Overall experience was subpar...if there was no other place nearby available it would be fine, but otherwise I will seek out another location next time.

Service counter was organized, clerk was knowledgeable and friendly. Made sure we had an understanding of the provided services. Rooms were very clean, modern and well laid out. Very pleased. This was our 4th time for the stop over with my wife. Thank you!

Not worth the money

We were not given the room we booked and payed for. None available was what we were told, but we would get it for our second night. Didn’t happen, the owner said he forgot, the clerk said the room wasn’t available. The second morning there was no water pressure, no one got to shower in the entire place. The room was somewhat renovated, but didn’t feel clean. And they didn’t clean it at all the second day. Gave us clean towels and that was it. Front desk had no comment and didn’t offer to have it cleaned. They wouldn’t give a printed receipt, said they would email it at 11 that morning. Three days later and still waiting. The breakfast was okay, but they don’t serve real bacon or sausages. The turkey bacon the first day tasted like cardboard and we still aren’t sure what the sausages were. We checked out a day early and was happy to pay a little more for a decent place. The best thing about this place is the view of the water, but the large trucks constantly on the highway right beside the hotel ruined the location. It’s less expensive than most hotels in the area and there’s a reason for that. My advice is pay a little more and get a decent place. These people don’t give a hoot about good service or integrity.

Great Place to Stay

We had a great experience staying at the Trailsman Lodge. We had a wonderful Lake view even with a last minute reservation. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was included which was a great bonus and very yummy.

The views from the back deck were beautiful . The staff were not friendly did not talk to the guests even if you said goodmorning . The breakfast was okay the weird bacon was horrible . The cigarette butts around the front of the property were really disgusting. Need to check the towels some of them were badly stained .

Water front was beautiful but with it comes bugs. 2 towels daily for 3 people was annoying as there are no phones in room, you must walk to front desk. Beds were comfortable, tv needs upgrade. Breakfast included was very nice. Ample parking. Noise from highway may bother some people.

Not What We Remembered

This is a motel on a very nice location but needs help. Our view of the water was excellent. Unfortunately just our part of the wood deck was not redone so not great for sitting.. The room was reasonably comfortable although water pressure was quite bad in the shower. The shower faucet was also hard to use and offered little control of temperature. Breakfast was ok other than the "bacon". Im not sure what the price difference is but next time i would probably look to the inns in Baddeck. I think with some TLC the Trailsman could be a nice little motel.
