A Nice Room For Relaxing

I went to Mackinaw for a late vacation. There was a problem with when I had scheduled my vacation, but we were able to straighten it out. It was a very relaxing time away. I just never heard the housekeeping when they came by.

The adjoining suites were very nice overall. My only complaint was that the floors in rooms and bathroom could have been a bit icleaner. (Not barefoot friendly 😠) The fireworks that night were a surprise!

Hotel is run down. No breakfast anymore, water park needs to be cleaned, rooms need to be cleaned better, our room the shower wouldn’t work only the bath.

Front desk service wasnt very good. The map she gave me and explanation of how to get to my room wasnt very good. Also, the outside jacuzzi water was cold and the indoor jacuzzi didnt have much for bubbles. Average stay at best.

Must stay here!

This was a wonderful family friendly hotel! My grandkids and I had a wonderful experience, room was very clean, beds were soft and cozy. Smelled a bit too much of bleach, but I’d would rather have that than something else. Carpet was stained, but otherwise great shape. Our view was Lakeside w/ balcony and we loved it! The waterpark was just as amazing as the pictures showed- a must for traveling with kids! It is right across the street from the ferry we took to Mackinaw Island. I will definitely return next year!

Dirty, late pool hours, broken/old, rude staff

The lady at the front desk was rude & unresponsive when spoken too (we had said thank you for various things and she said nothing each time). When another party let her know that the lobby coffee was out she did not even make eye contact or verbally respond but she rather shuffled slowly over appearing very annoyed. The headboard was broken in the room and couch and each bed was sandy along with the floor, the outdoor light (entryway) was also out. Pool did not open until 2pm so if you chose to stay there to swim- it’s not an option until mid afternoon.

Overall an okay place to stay if its an overnight. Didnt like the hours of the waterpark. Could've been eariler to get in before 2. Water was severly cloudy and yet you could smell all the cholrine used.

Go elsewhere

I have never been to a nastier hotel there was a strong musty odor, the filters were filthy, you could feel dirt on the floor and it appears that there is mold on the walls ( not seen until morning) we would have went elsewhere but didn’t arrive until midnight and had to leave early so we endured but never again.

Will not stay again

Dated building. My friend and I ended up with an extremely strange, dated room that we had to go through a maze to get to. While going through that maze it felt like we were walking through a ghost town of rundown restaurants and unused banquet spaces. We were unable to even find the ice machine near our room. It was clean and were only there for one night so we made do. Great location too so that made it more bearable.

Moisture trouble

The overall cleanliness of the room was clean, I’ll give them that. But there was a definite moisture problem with that room. We arrived late into the evening and the rooms 2 ac unites were set on freezing. We had thought that because the room was so cold everything had gotten damp. Even all the pillows & beds. Well the dampness never went away. Throughout the next day while out of the room we left the ac off but upon our return it was just damp and warm in the suite. The suite has wallpaper throughout and where the seams didn’t come together the wallpaper had curled back with mold growing. The glass window on the door going outside it mold growing along its caulk line. The room had a jacuzzi, that we never used and the property has a water park which was its own building so neither of those two things were the leading issue of wet, dampness. We stayed two nights and each night you crawled into a damp bed. In the mornings when I’d put my Birkenstock sandals on, they were damp from the moisture in the room. If there had not been a moisture problem, everything would have been great

Disabled go elsewhere

Go somewhere else no breakfast as advertised handicap room was a joke had 18 inches of brick in front of room so access for someone in a wheelchair is all near front lobby no blankets either night even though requested we were given sheets and a mattress pad had bathtub with bench so paralyzed family member unable to shower was not walk-in shower as most are just highly unsatisfied
