Excellent hotel near Santa Maria Maggiore

This is lovely small hotel located near the Basilica Santa Maria Maggiore, Roma Termini train station, and not far from the Colosseum. It is very affordable. The rooms are modernized, and the owners are attentive and friendly. A real gem.

Had a lovely stay for three nights in this hotel in the middle of Roma, just a short walk from the train station. The hotel has a warm and familiar feel. The staff is very welcoming and attentive. Clean, spacious rooms. Only downside is our window was facing a busy street so can be a bit noisy, but I think this would be true almost everywhere in the area. Would absolutely recommend this hotel. The owner and her staff were incredibly kind and helpful. I enjoyed our conversations and their local knowledge. The location is excellent. It’s a very short walk to the Termini in one direction and the Colosseum in the other. The neighbourhood was lively but not too busy. Honestly, my best hotel stay in all of Italy. I’d stay here again.

Hotel Santa Prassede was absolutely fantastic! Just a quick seven-minute walk from the train station and only a block away from all the magic that is Rome—it couldn’t have been more convenient. One of the true highlights of my stay was Christina. She was incredibly knowledgeable, always full of great recommendations, and genuinely kind. Every time I walked through the door, she or a staff member was there offering water or snacks, which was such a thoughtful touch after long days of exploring. I honestly don’t have a single complaint. If I’m ever lucky enough to find myself back in Rome, Hotel Santa Prassede will be at the top of my list.
