Room was clean, bed was nice, however, TV didn’t work. Called the front desk to ask them to fix it around 8:30 PM. They said unfortunately they didn’t know how. The bar restaurant that said it was attached was not really attached and their drinks were Poorly made, and extremely overpriced.

I have stayed at the Hyatt place downtown multiple times especially with my family coming down every year as I went to school at UIUC. This weekend I experienced an unpleasant experience, It immediately felt as thought the service was lackluster and the overall vibe of the hotel was not as welcoming as usual. Throughout our stay we noticed other minor things that contributed, when having an issue with the tv at night the front desk belittled my issue telling me to resolve in the morning (which would be after I checked out) and insisting that I must be doing something wrong as he saw someone streaming to a tv downstairs and assured me it was possible instead of offering help. After that we noticed a big downgrade in what used to be complimentary breakfast. We now had to pay for a breakfast that felt less quality than it used to be during prior stays. After speaking with the front desk further, we found out there was recently new management that had taken over and all I have to say is it is very noticeable from a consumers point of view and not in a positive way…

It seems the property was a good property at some time in the past. The rooms and the facilities are still good but the staff and service are not good - staff and policies are quite rude. Breakfast is not worthy of Hyatt brand. They advertise 24x7 The Market but it is barely stocked. They advertise The Placery but it's been shut down.
