Not really good hotel

The location is not bad, just in the old town. However, maybe we traveled there in winter, no other tourists lived there. The heater is not good enough, we feeled cold in the room. Considering the c/p value, I don't recommend this hotel.

I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Villa Duomo. The staff was lovely and very helpful. I stayed in the attic room which was one of the most unique rooms I have ever stayed in. The room is literally the attic and the bed is lofted above the main floor area. The place was very clean and centrally located. Housekeeping did a good job each day. It was a little odd not having the tv near the bed but it forced me to adopt proper bedtime habits because once you went upstairs to the bed it wasn’t natural to keep going back down. I also note that the shower doesn’t get truly hot- it’s lukewarm at best which was ok given the weather but it stood out in comparison to other hotels I stayed in during my trip. The hotel is right in the middle of everything so it was very easy to get to tour pick up spots and to walk around old town. The only caveat I have is to listen to the reviews. They are all absolutely correct when they say it is loud. I needed noise cancelling headphones to sleep and even with them in it was not easy the first two nights. I ended up staying up late one night (not by choice) and taking a nap midday to make up for lack of sleep. The noise mainly comes from music playing in the various squares. It’s not bad music but if you need quiet, this is not the hotel for you. Everything else about the hotel - price point, free breakfast, location is great. The people running the hotel are lovely.

Villa Duomo is a beautiful building right in the middle of the old town so a fantastic location to visit everything in Kotor. Lovely breakfast on the terrace. Be aware though that there is an open air bar next door which plays loud music until 1am (there are double glazed windows on the rooms which helps to minimise the noise though) and parking is outside of the old town which can be very busy at times so plan to arrive after 5pm to find a space more easily. We loved staying right in the centre of the old town.

Property is very well located in Old Town, you are in middle of everything, and the staff is wonderful. The only thing to be mentioned is that the bathtub is in the middle of the living room so you have no privacy since it has no doors. But the toilet is private and has a door. I thought it was a little unusual. Pay attention on room pictures. I’m not sure if all the rooms are the same but mine was like that. Other than that everything was great and I recommend.

An okey stay

It is a very spacious place, but very noisy with the bar next door playing loud music until 1am. The shower is in a round bath tub but without being able to hang it. I found the bed on the smaller size for two people. Some staff member were not very friendly or helpful, others were. So depends on whose shift it is, you will feel welcomed or not. It may be nice to be in the middle of the city centre, but I would not repeat my experience here.

We had a large and beautiful room at the top of a charming historic building, with views over the heart of Old Town Kotor. Very close to all the attractions, bars and restaurants. Good onsite breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. No parking due to the location, but the public lot just outside the closest gate in the walls worked fine.

Hotel Villa Duomo is very conveniently located in Old Town Kotor. It is a charming place that adds to the experience of visiting Kotor. There is no driving in old town so you’ll need to pull your luggage through town and up some stairs. I did wish there was more privacy for the tub in room 13, but we were made aware of the tub being outside when we made reservation. The complimentary breakfast on the terrace was a lovely start to every day.”5 K

Beautiful, gracious, hotel, center of Old Town

It’s a beautiful, gracious old hotel with very spacious and comfortable amenities. The staff is exceptionally warm and gracious, and an amazing restaurant attached to it. The breakfast is very generous. The perfect location right in the center of Old Town Kotor.

The bedrooms were large and comfortable, all the staff were friendly and very helpful, the breakfasts were simple but plentiful and included fresh fruit. The position of the hotel was in the centre of the old town and amazingly quiet considering where it was. What really made our stay so memorable was the staff - they were all excellent. 👏

Take ear plugs

The hotel is very well situated but our stay was marred by poor sleep. The good points of the hotel are: - Location - friendly staff - antqiue period furniture and rooms. The downsides were - hard and uncomfortable beds - technology - the 'high speed wifi' barely resgistered 7MBs and we could not get the a/c to work. - we also were there during a national holiday so there was a lot of partying going on outside and in the hotel itself. The consequence is that we found it hard to sleep even with ear plugs.
