Sight and Sound Theater getaway

We had a wonderful time. The staff were great and kind. The rooms and property were clean and neat. The matrices were on the firm side of things for me but were very nice. The farm tour and the restaurant was amazing!! We will definitely stay here again .

NOT Handicapp Friendly

We had booked 2 adjoining rooms 3 months in advance, we were under the understanding that this hotel is handicapp friendly it is most certainly not, there is no step free entrance to get to reception once we checked in we went to find our rooms theres no elevator on the end of the hotel they put us in, so we find out rooms wendid find a ramp to use to push my mothers wheelchair in when we found our rooms they were not adjoining. The rooms looked clean and comfortable but when we went to look at the pool and arcade is when we ralized we would have had to go outside walk over half way arounthe hotel to enter the pool area because it the only way to bget my mom in her wheelchair into the pool area the only other ways into the pool area all require going up and down steps. We were traveling with 2 seniors and 3 heart patients that cannot really climb stairs so i called the front desk to whoch they 1st told is they did the best they could for adjoining rooms but thr best they could do was rooms across the hall i said i booked like 3 to 4 months in advanvmce so this should not be a issue i ask for our money back and when we got to the frobt desk they offered us a upgrade to 2 rooms out front in the motel portion but by this point with all the walking we just said we wanted our money back and i booked with hotels.com rooms at the best western intercourse village down t&e street and bw came with a free breaskfast where bird in hand has to breakfast

Enjoyed our stay at the Bird-in-Hand Family Inn. We enjoyed the in house theater production, the pool was very enjoyable, beds were comfortable and the staff was very accommodating and helpful. Hope they get the restaurant back up and running. They had a fire in the kitchen last year and it still is not opened. I did not see anyone working on it. In previous stays, the restaurant was top notch. Hope they get it back on line soon. Miss it. Also, take the daily tour of Amish farmland and businesses. It takes a couple of hours and is very informative.

Would stay again but not in front buildings

I would definitely stay here again but only in the pool hotel portion. The rooms in the building closest to the road are musty and need updating. There was a small dehumidifier in the room that I had to empty each day during our stay. My family was in the hotel portion and their rooms were much nicer albeit the bathrooms are extremely small. The staff are very friendly. The pool area very nice. The mini golf was nice but wish they offered discounts for guests. The best part was the free shuttle ride through the Amish countryside and our driver Chris was super nice!

Came for our yearly visit! Always a good stay. Friendly staff, comfortable rooms. Housekeeping left a bit to be desired this stay but everything is always clean. The restaurant is still closed due to a fire on 2023, but is open to guests for breakfast on the weekends. We received coupons for the bakery/cafe across the street which has delicious apple fritters!

Stay was just okay. Glad this was a quick trip only requiring a 1-night stay. Registration area moved way in the back of property. It’s been a year and a half after explosion in front building and still not finished. The separate restaurant had a fire a month after the explosion in the hotel next door and that still hasn’t been reopened for regular meals. Part of the appeal for staying at this establishment in the past was the restaurant within walking distance of our room. Now, it’s like any other average motel with a nice pool.
