Great location.

Great location in Palermo, central to all sights, shops and restaurants. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Room clean and spacious. Continental breakfast adequate (I'm a vegetarian.) Would definitely recommend and return to this hotel.

Don’t stay here

Almost impossible to drive here. You must go through 4 ‘mirrors in’ back streets - two of them wrong way on a one way street - AND across pedestrian zoned street. Then no elevator, dirty pillows, bad bed, terrible stale breakfast that we heard the front desk tell the breakfast person ‘we just put today’s croissant into a bag and put them out tomorrow’.

Excellent and great value hotel right in the centre of Palermo. Very good staff. I had a comfortable single room with ensuite bathroom with a good shower. Amazingly quiet for the centre of the city. Good breakfast.

It’s cheap. You pay for what you get. You get a bed, a shower, espresso in the morning, and close proximity to downtown. The AC is not great so it’s hot. Not the best night of sleep but it’s a place to put your head at night. Most importantly, it’s safe and the staff is incredibly nice. If you’re a 20-something, just trying to experience Palermo on a budget, this is a safe bet.

Our room had no mini fridge as said on site.. 'each room has a mini fridge'. The shower had mold in the corners and did not drain well. You are standing in dirty water by the time you are finished showering.The breakfast was very average. No elevator and noone offered to carry our luggage down the stairs when we were checcking out. The Hotel Columbia is perfectly located near the Quattro Canti just off the Via Maqueda. My room had a bed, a balcony, telly, a/c, and an en suite bathroom/shower. Breakfast was also included. Everything I wanted. A pleasant surprise, was that I could buy local wines, and they would put it in their fridge. Sicily has lovely white wines, too! The only negative thing, is I'd arrange airport transfers to and from the hotel myself to avoid any language barriers/confusion.

1) If you are driving, pick a property outside of Palermo City, proper. The streets are extremely, narrow, unsafe and drivers don't appear to follow international driving rules and laws. 2) The GPS doesn't work reliably in town center. 3) The staff at Hotel Columbia were not very helpful and eager to assist. 4) There is not elevator in the hotel!

Right where you want to be, location wise. Bed was comfy. The whole place needs some work, but they are doing it! The problem is that they start at 630 am and continue till 6 at night. Staff was great. I'm sure this place will be top notch when they're done with the construction

Great location

Next to the interesting places of the city, 15 minutes walk from railway station. Nice room, limited shampoo. Friendly people willing to help you. No elevator but because I had problem walking stairs they change my room to first floor. Breakfast with a big variety of sweets.
