Had to waite on courtesy cart drivers too long, if they showed up when requested. Did a lot of walking. The restaurant service was just okay, most of the time food was received warm and not hot. For the price of food, everything should have been hot and fresh. And finally the room, room looked wonderful as the property is gorgeous. But something bit me and the daughter at the foot of the bed, not cool.

The stench

The hotel was beautiful. And the staff were kind and courteous. What really detracted from the overall stay was the horrible stench that permeated the hotel. As soon as you get out it is there. There is nothing you can do about it, but it is quite horrible. It reeks so we were not able to comfortably eat at the restaurant or have a drink at their famous Margaritaville bar. It was so bad that it was also in the bath water. I'm not exactly sure why it smelled so badly over there actually, but I believe it is the water from the dock area and where the hotel is located. I cannot tell you how horrible it was so leaving the hotel is a definite must to get away from this stench.

Everything was great except the smell from the sargassum (seaweed). No fault to the hotel but it made the lower pool unusable, no beach, and the nearby restaurant was even a bit difficult to enjoy.

Our TV didnt work in the room, the ac in the room would not cool to desired temp,, we werent made aware of the sarrgassum until after the room that was non refundable was booked.The food was cold at the coffee shop and the service at the main restaurant was poor. After calling about the AC twice, there was no attempt to repair it.

The smell of the seaweed was so horrible almost unbearable around the resort. You need a golf cart bellman to get around because of the hills and it a very long and hilly walk but you are waiting 15-20 mins every time to get any where around the resort. The food at the margarita villa restaurant was horrible and super over priced, I almost starved until I found the sandwich shop which was that best meal I had since being there. The TV did not work my entire stay but was told that the cable is down and they are working on it. I was told by the desk person during check in that the hill top pool was for adults only FALSE it was full of children. The seaweed smell was so pungent at the main pool. Overall i give this resort 2 stars. I would not book again,

We loved our stay at Margaritaville. Our room was missing our Margarita machine and we did not get the complimentary margarita on arrival so that was kind of a bummer, but overall we still really enjoyed our stay. I knew ahead of time that there would be lots of stairs and no daily housekeeping, so I was prepared for this, but I would say that if someone would at least come every few days to take out trash and switch out towels in the room, that would really take things up a notch. Breakfast at the restaurant was a great value for the price. There was one night at dinner where there was a limited menu and a buffet option for $50 a plate, which was a bit pricey for our taste. On other nights, when the full menu was available, we did enjoy our dinner at the restaurant. The taxi and golf cart services were great, top pool is wonderful and we loved seeing all of the animals (cats, chickens, iguanas) on property. Also enjoyed the free shuttles to Coki and Sapphire beaches.

It was not that busy, however the only resteraunt service was slow, entertainment venue at night didnt have enough seats, had to wait forever for shuttle to tour room and you can swim in the ocean Asked the staff to book our ride to the airport and said a taxi would be waiting at 630, in fact there was no taxi waiting and we left at 7 instead of 630 like we wanted. We had to walk down to the lobby many stairs with our luggage as a car wasnt available.

The staff are absolutely amazing. I’ve never traveled anywhere and every person I encountered was pleasant, warm and personable. The location is perfect and a quick taxi ride away from anything. Loved!

The rooms were very nice and clean.There is no service of the rooms, however, during the stay. All rooms are on the side of a very steep mountain you must climb or wait for a hotel employee to bring you in a golf cart. Dining at the resort is well below average with just one restaurant where the food isn't so great. You pretty much have to leave the resort for a restaurant. Pools were nice. Staff was nice.
