We recently stayed at the JW Marriott in Reston to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and the experience was mixed.
Unfortunately, the view from our room was very disappointing, and the constant noise from emergency vehicles made it difficult to relax. Upon arrival, I initially felt unsafe parking until I later learned where to park and that the property does have 24-hour security—information that would have been reassuring if it had been clearly communicated at check-in.
The check-in and valet staff could have been more attentive and helpful. We were not properly informed about the property, amenities, or general layout, which made the stay feel less welcoming than expected for a JW Marriott.
An honorable mention goes to the security personnel—one gentleman in particular was exceptionally helpful, professional, and reassuring. His assistance truly stood out and positively impacted our stay.
Overall, there is room for improvement in guest communication and service consistency.
