8/10 Very good

It was a very comfortable bed

6/10 Good

Quirky but nice.

Place was clean in both the bedroom and bathroom. Mattress was not so good. Would not suit a stay for anyone looking for a quiet night. Wonderful for a good price, great location stop over in Brighton.

Loved it! Not for everyone!!

This place is classic rustic bare basics hotel you would get in a third world country. Just the bare necessities. No fluff. I loved it!!!

Do not stay here

Very poor, just a bed in a room, kettle stank and no cups or anything to make a coffee. Dirty carpet, very old and musky smell. Bathroom poor and stained. I would not recommend and definitely not worth £77. Personally this hotel should not be open.

Stay away from this hotel

Well where do start When arriving at the hotel was put upon the top floor that was so hot in the room could not breathe so did change the room was pretty much the same but not as bad. Found out later on the heating was on why would you have heating on midsummer well i didn't get no sleep due to being in the middle of a few pubs and clubs the room was far from clean

Terrible accommodation from a negligent owner

Terrible hotel and awful management. Bedsheets had hairs all over them and were visibly creased - clearly had not been washed. Bathroom full of bodged fixes, mould and dust all round. This hotel screams of a management who care so little for the guests that they wouldn't spend a penny on improving the rooms, this attitude is evident in the dreadful rooms. Avoid!

Awful

Hotel looks nothing like the picture on the app,it was very dated & run down. Paid £100 for a tiny box room, with a very small bathroom, which consisted of a toilet, basin, a small bath(you could maybe sit in) which was dirty & a cold shower! If you wanted a hot shower, you had to use a communal one down the hallway. Very disappointed, expected more for £100 a night, couldn’t even get something to eat or drink there

Noisy and run down

It is really central, but because the building is very old there is no soundproofing. Poor windows. The music from the bar opposite went on til 3am. With people shouting and singing waking down the road. The fire alarm then went off at 3.30am so we evacuated downstairs. There was Noone working at the hotel so after 30 mins with nothing happening went back to our room in 4th floor. Felt very uncomfortable with only one central staircase in an old building. If there was a fire I’m not sure we would have got out.

Worst hotel experience ever

This hotel is not true reflection of what advertised, i was so traumatised to notice that this hotel is called Church Hotel under the banner of Seaside Hotel, very very dirty, dusty and not cleaned, stinking corridor and smelly rooms back view unbearable, unfortunately i had to find another hotel room instead and could not use or re-enter this hotel again until i returned to drop off key next day. This hotel advert is misleading and health and safety need to be involved and inspect this property. They also dont refund and room was very very dirty and not worth £108 per night. i would advise people or other people not to be victims like i did. i can share a few picture i took as evidence to justify my review and show how the advert is misleading. I felt robbed of my £108 per night and i had just booked for 1 night

Do not come here

Whole hotel smelt like cigarettes, for the price of £99, all there was in the room was a double bed that was broken and what you could potentially call a wardrobe and a separate door in the room that was screwed into the frame so couldn’t be opened.

Late booking

We booked with Seaside Hotel last minute as our other choice had double booked. I had to phone the owner for access code, he came to meet us 10 minutes later with a key to room and code for front door. Really friendly staff, Decor very dated. Bed comfy. We did have a basic double, very well priced, great location. Shower over bath was cold. Steep steps up to bathroom, sloping ceiling which husband cut his head on.

This property is a death trap. Smoke detector hanging down from ceiling. Plug sockets not attached to wall loose wires. Dirty bath and window sill dirty hadn’t seen a damp cloth in god knows how long. Staff apologised but it wasn’t good enough. We have requested a full refund which they agreed to so I suppose I’ll have to fight for it!!

Is this a hotel or by the hour rental

Imagine if you can our horror when arriving at this hotel at 10pm to find that several door stafffrom neighbouring nightclubs had fingerprint access to the hotel.Described as four star is an outright lie. The foyer area and adjoining area were a tip, nothing like the photographs. Despite being given codes for our access the doorstaff seemed to know the process. Our room was badly decorated, filthy carpet with the yale lock hanging off the door, obviously previously been broken into. The ensuite was along the corridor, shared by many other rooms. Pieces of the wall were missing. The whole place smelt. The blind on the bedroom window was broken and didnt reach the bottom of the window. The noise from outside ceased at 4pm, followed by fighting and emergency vehicles. This whole place gave the impression of a venue where rooms could be rented by the hour. I wouldnt recommend this to anyone and believe it should be taken off your lisings before its representation rubs off on you, unless of course you wosj to enter the world of rent by the hour.

We liked nothing about our stay at this hotel, in fact we have so many complaints and photos of how dirty our room was, it's incredible we were even asked for a review I. This hotel! The staff were rude to us and other guests at this hotel and as we all walked in well said" what have we booked"?! One member of staff pretended to be a guest when we tried asking him if he was a resident or a member of staff and then replied, it depends on what you want ??? Don't get me going about health and safety!! We walked into the corridor where are room was and we couldn't get in nor out as there was a loft ladder in the way of the door!!? There was no hot water in the hotel and the whole establishment and experience was overall, shocking!!! It should be moved off of your website and the whole place should be leveled to the ground because it's that bad if a place!!

I literally booked this hotel in Brighton the night before I was due to run the full Brighton Marathon. I firstly received a call whilst travelling to the hotel asking what time I was to be expected, I then received a second phone call informing me they were having boiler issues and that my ensuite didn't have hot water...BUT could shower in the communal shower. I feel compelled to express on arrival my deep disappointment with the state and cleanliness with the hotel, was appalling to say the least. I was met with a guy smoking inside the hotel, I'm assuming he was front of house. It was clear from the moment I arrived basic hygiene standards were not being me, therefore find it hard to understand how this hotel's passed any form of rating with Expedia or any other platform. My room was ok for a 2* hotel, but unfortunately smelt of cigarettes so not sure if the front of house was trying to fix the boiler issue in my room. The smell of cigarettes was so bad that I walked to the shop to buy a candle and disinfectant to try and get rid of the smell. I booked this hotel very lastminute as was running the Brighton marathon the next day. The smell, noise and fact the window had a draft filtering through due to serve wood rot/damage was despicable. Cleanliness is non-negotiable aspect of hospitality. I expected a far better experience in way of hygiene, appears the entrance, hallways and stair carpets had never been met with any form of vacuum. I would expect my £135 back!
