Nice stay

Clean but small room, bathroom was a little dated and small but all good apart from that! The view on a basic room is of the walls and makes the room very dark but that didn’t matter to us as we were out of the room most of the time! The hotel itself is great with stunning views and a great area to swim in the sea. It’s a 20 minute walk into town so was great for that aspect too.

Un excellent séjour

Le personnel de l hôtel a répondu à toutes mes interrogations avant notre arrivée et a été très bienveillant à notre égard tout au long de nôtre séjour. L hôtel est très bien placé : face a la mer et à 20mn à pied du centre ville. La chambre vue sur mer était parfaite et confortable. Petit déjeuner au top. Coin piscine et plage avec les transats génial. Et le petit plus : de supers massages.

This hotel could use upgrades and staff training!

The hotel needs updating and staff needs training in hotel management and hospitality. I don’t recommend staying in the Annex building which is like the “maids’ quarters”. The only good thing about the room was the AC and view. Some of my clothes were stolen from my suitcase by the cleaning staff. The room was small and the bathroom was awful (see pics). The main building is much better, is nicely decorated and has beautiful areas for lounging overlooking the ocean. There is also a small gym. The hotel is a 25 min walk to the old city of Hvar.

A good 3* hotel ; but certainly not 4*

The hotel is located on a beautiful cove, and the access to a private jetty is a nice touch. The sea view is remarkable. HOWEVER, even though the staff is friendly, the service is not up to standard at all. Many surprising things: no tissues in the room, no bathrobe—which is a shame given the spa and direct access to the sea; we had a drink in our room and nothing was cleared away the next day (an employee actually came to do the washing up in our room). The hotel manager would probably benefit from spending some time training in a luxury establishment. It’s a shame, because the place deserves much better, and we would have liked a more pleasant customer experience from start to finish.

Luxury a walk away from Hvar town

The Podstine Hotel is a beautiful, quiet and luxurious place for a getaway just a walk away from the heart of Hvar town. The staff was friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. We enjoyed live music on the terrace at night and cooled off in the swimming pool after a long day of travel. We only wish we had more time at the hotel to enjoy the lush landscaping and awesome swim area on the Adriatic. We were told the walk to town along the water was about 20 minutes but it’s more like half an hour at a leisurely pace. There is ample parking if you arrive by car.

Hotel feedback

The hotel was fine, but we chose to upgrade our room before arriving in Hvar, as we discovered that our original room was located in a building behind the main hotel. The upgrade came at a high price, but unfortunately, the room did not live up to our expectations. The hotel itself appears somewhat worn, but the service has been good and the location is excellent. To justify its pricing in the future, the hotel should invest in renovations.

Fantastisk beliggende hotell i strandkanten med et flott beachområde med egen bar. Fantastisk serviceminded og hyggelig ansatte i beachområde. De følger gjestene veldig godt ppp. Veldig godt utvalg i drikke og veldig god mat. Kokken på hotellet viser dette også på middagen. Frokosten kunne vært bedre men for oss er dette en uvesentlig bagatell fordi alt annet kompenserer så til de grader. Rundt 25 min. rolig gange langs sjøen til Hvar, der man finner et stort utvalg av barer og restauranter.

The location is heavenly. Direct access to the sea in shallow waters is unique. The staff was excellent, especially bar and restaurant st. aff. The bathroom was small. Restaurants within walking distance were all excellent. Breakfast at the hotel was top notch. The easy, 20 min walk along the sea to Hvar town made going there easy while staying away from the party scenes. Relaxing stay. Would go again and highly recommedning to friends and family.

Old hotel, great location with a nice coastal walk into the old town. Rooms are very dated, and the curtains weren’t big enough to cover the windows so it’s not possible to block out all the light
