Unfortunately, my experience with this property (Host Prime Paradise Villa at Rehab City) and its management (Host Prime) was very disappointing.
My check-in date was December 27. On December 25, the management contacted me via WhatsApp offering a “better deal” if I canceled my Expedia reservation and booked directly with them. I declined and asked for standard check-in instructions. I was told they would be provided 24 hours before check-in.
On December 26—less than 24 hours before arrival—I was informed that there would be a city water cutoff affecting part of my stay and that I needed to cancel my reservation. I asked the host to initiate the cancellation, as this issue was on their side. They assured me I could cancel and receive a full refund.
To date, despite multiple calls to Expedia, I have not received my refund because Host Prime has not responded to Expedia’s repeated attempts to contact them via phone and email.
The purpose of this review is to:
• Raise concern about last-minute cancellations initiated by hosts
• Highlight the risk travelers face when management companies do not respond after a cancellation
• Encourage better vetting of third-party management companies on booking platforms
I’m sharing this so other travelers can make informed decisions and avoid similar situations. I also sincerely hope that property owners are not aware of how their listings is being managed, as this behavior ultimately harms both guests and owners.
