It is a ok to good hotel

In the first night, the room is terrible. The furniture is in bad condition. The room is old and dirty. However, the hotel staff knows our feelings. They changed another room for us next day. That one was completely different. That room was excellent. All the negative comments in the last room changed to positive comments would be the right comments in the next day.

We were initially pleased with the off-season rate and felt that the hotel provided reasonable value for the price. While it is not a high-end mountain resort, the front desk staff were friendly and welcoming upon arrival, and our room was clean, though it would benefit from some updates. We particularly enjoyed the mountain views from our creekside room. However, there were several aspects of our stay that were disappointing. There was no indication on Hotels.ca or the hotel’s official website that the on-site pub and restaurant would be closed until December for renovations, which was unfortunate as we had planned to dine there and watch a game. Additionally, there was no mention that Telus was conducting work on the property, impacting access to the main entrance and portions of the parking area. After booking our reservation, we received an email outlining the pub’s hours (later upon check in finding out the location currently closed) as well as informing us about reduced front desk hours due to staffing shortages and low-season operations. Unfortunately, our nights were also disturbed by excessive noise, including guests pounding on doors and others shouting from the parking lot to rooms on the upper floors. With no front desk or staff available, we had no one to report. Overall, while the staff were pleasant and the views beautiful, the lack of communication regarding closures, construction, and disruptions significantly detracted from the experience.

The room was clean and comfortable, but the management’s handling of my booking was unacceptable. The hotel charged my card for the full amount an hour before their office closed, without warning. I had already paid the deposit and first night stay, so this felt excessive and unprofessional. To make matters worse, I was told by the manager that office hours were 8 a.m. – 10 a.m. on Thursday, and I even have an email confirming that. However, they sent an amended schedule the day of check-in — which I didn’t see because I relied on the original information provided when I booked. I showed up promptly at 8 a.m. to pay in person, but the manager was late, and I had to leave for my retreat without staying. Overall, the room was fine, but the lack of clear communication and the unauthorized early charge completely ruined my experience. I wouldn’t book again unless management improves their professionalism and consistency.

We were travelling with 2 pedal bikes. Room was on the 3rd floor. No way we were getting our bikes up stairs. On elevator. Quick phone call to the contact number. A spot on the ground floor was made available for storage. All turned out just great. Thanks so much !!

Although a great location to walk in town the facility was over priced for what it is…. Office closed by 5 pm, there was mold on the shower wall ceiling and dirty floors. No elevators and three floors were rough with a heavy suitcase. It was just a place to rest your head for a night. Nothing spectacular.

This property was no frills but had everything we needed. The room was clean and updated. Did lack a space to hang things. A few more hooks would help. No elevator. Restaurant pub on site. Beautiful view of mountains and creek running next to property. Easy walking distance to shops, restaurants and downtown as well as trails. Take note. No hot tub on site. Great choice for price point.

The photo on the Expedia website is deceptive. The property is not attractive and feels like a motel. The door to the bathroom was a barn door that kept sliding open. The restaurant on the first floor pumped out a very heavy odor of bacon cooking. No elevator, we had a third floor walk up. There was an outdoor music venue somewhere close with very loud amplifiers. Music alternated between very loud rock and equally loud accordion polkas. Yes you read that right. Accordion polkas. Between the stink from bacon cooking, the music, and constant traffic noise we couldn’t keep the window open. No A/C of course. The room had a fan. There was an analog clock on the wall with the wrong time.
