During our 20-day journey, the most memorable meal was at UmiShima Dining, the onsite restaurant. Although it operates as a café and buffet-style venue, the à la carte dinner options were exceptional. The Wagyu steak was hands-down the best I’ve ever tasted, and the cod appetizer was bursting with flavor. The service was equally impressive—attentive, warm, and professional. I wholeheartedly recommend dining here. The hotel itself is lovely and ideally situated for exploring Hiroshima’s key attractions and makes for a perfect base for a day trip to Miyajima Island.

The hotel is located in Hiroshima train station on the south side. Reception is on the 7th floor outside of the building and there is a exquisite view of the area. The staff are English friendly and very polite and nice and accommodate rooms are clean and cozy

A tidy and convenient hotel

I choose this hotel because of the good comment on net. As what people said, it is very good. The location is excellent. No matter you take the JR trains, Shinkensen, trams or buses, they are available in a minute. I recommend to choose this hotel. For the buffet breakfast, they provide wide range of food and drinks in hood quality. Staff are very nice and polite. Offering a cheerful smile to me and delighted my day. This is my first time to Hiroshima and you give me a great memory. Thanks.

In the middle of lovely Hiroshima, All you need to have in terms of various dining, shopping, cafes, transportation etc, just steps away from your room door… Comfy room despite it’s size which is OK if you utilize each given space. Beautiful new hotel in a fabulous location above the new South Gate Station Kyoto. Spacious room for a fair price. The rooms facing the downtown area was a delightful view at night. Excellent location for transportation, shopping and food. The restaurant had the sweetest staff. We adored Yuri and how attentive she was to ensure every need was met while dining. There is complementary coffee in the restaurant in the morning which was a wonderful touch in the morning. Definitely recommend this hotel.

Convenient location on top of the Hiroshima station. Great proximity to Shinkansen trains and airport bus stop. The area around South Gate has significant construction at the moment so it can be quite crowded and hectic, but once inside the hotel, it is calm and the staff are available and friendly. Room we booked was quite small with an odd layout with the bed against the wall, felt smaller than the 20m2 advertised.

Transit Hotel

We didn't fully understand until we got here that this is a transit hotel — a very new (but very expensive) one. Rooms are small, even for Japan, and the breakfast experience felt more like a school cafeteria. If you can get a deal it might be convenient for a night; for anything more than that, the older Granvia near the north gate would be a better bet.

Hotel Granvia in Hiroshima is by far the best hotel we've stayed in Japan. It's right there at the train station and the shopping mall. Lot's of dining too in the mall, you don't need to go far to dine. Hotel Granvia is a new hotel and I guess we're one of the lucky ones who get's to stay first in this very new hotel. The staffs are very friendly and you can checkin or check out by yourself through their self checkin machine. Highly recommended.
