Dated resort but, for one night it was okay for our family.

Cute little inn on the water!
Beautiful area and the hotel was very conveniently located, right on the water! Our room was great and had a view of the bay. Room was very clean and had all the necessities! Bed was comfy, but could’ve had better pillows. Overall would definitely stay again!

A comfortable room in a cozy setting amidst a glorious setting and an extremely comfortable bed. What more could we ask?

Tomales Bay Resort is an excellent location from which to explore Pt Reyes and West Marin. It’s a cool, funky, but well maintained facility right on Tomales Bay.

A Mellow Escape
We were looking for a mellow escape from the City madness. We found it and it was great. Super quiet. The local area was welcoming. Sitting on the benches overlooking the Bay was just what the doctor ordered. Thank you!

They were able to give me a room even thought I showed up one day earlier than my reservation. My mistake.

Near the water and the rooms were nice however there were no services onsite and very limited dining nearby. There was a restaurant bar on site, but it’s no longer operational and no DoorDash or anything within walking distance. I would have preferred an enclosed patio but the bed was comfy and room well equipped. Friendly staff with easy check in/check out.

Nice and cozy
It was nice and cozy for the price. The kid in the reception was polite and friendly. The place is outdated, the coffee machine was broken, however I due recommend it.

Room right next to highway and could hear the car noise easily. Smoking area right outside our door. Room too expensive for this older hotel

Great View, rough sleep.
The room and view was great, however I would recommend getting an upstairs room or a single story room as the noise upstairs kept us up until 12:45am on our first night. It would also be nie if all of the rooms in the building we stayed in had a small table and chairs to use to sit outside and enjhoy the view. There was one table outside and the people in the rooom next to us insisted it was their table and we were not allowed to use it. It would also be ice if there was an ironing board an iron available in the room. All in all our stay was pleasant and we will consider staying again if there is no one above us walking around loudly.

Not sure where to start. I wouldn’t call this a resort, unless simply having a marina and a pool qualifies as a resort. There was not much support in the property - no coffee/muffins/bagels for breakfast. The restaurant appeared to be long ago closed. Inverness has almost no support in the community either - just a post office and a general store (which was actually good when it was open).
Unless you’re planning on packing in your own food, I’d try somewhere else - maybe a bed and breakfast.

We enjoyed an overnight stay; however, when we saw we had a kitchen we went to local store and purchased food for breakfast. Then found out the stove does not work. We were told the gas is turned off and they don't advise the kitchen.
It would be a courtesy to let people know when they arrive so they don't make the same assumption.
BTW; the local grocery is about double typical cost. Didn't have an issue with the price because of remote location. Just would of not purchased food to cook.
The beds were comfortable.

Staying with my Ants on Tomales Bay
The bay setting is nice but for the $750 2 night stay in # 36 not worth the prices. The rooms were fairly substandard, converted out of an older motel that was meant to look more modern, but did not really have the modern conveniences or posh quality
Advertised. While it came complete with a small kitchen. It couldn’t be used because of an ant infestation
( and the ancient stove and cabinets are very dirty) The weekend management was rather irate by our “ non-emergency “ stopped by our room but did very little about the ants telling us.” It’s the country and there are ants.” He left us with a borrowed can of ant spray.

The location on Tamales Bay is quite scenic, the rooms are clean and spacious, if a bit dated, and the beds were comfy. We were disappointed to learn that the restaurant was not only closed but had been closed since COVID. Having to drive some distance to eateries was somewhat offset by some quite good food options. Not everything in the room was operational, the gas heater did warm the room but its fan was not working so it took a little longer. The ice cream that we put in the freezer compartment melted. When we wanted to fix cereal for ourselves one morning we discovered that there were no bowls. The staff was friendly but had limited hours on site.

First, it is NOT a resort. Not in winter time. Amd to say we had access to the kayaks at 3pm check in time when sun sets at 530pm and its 54 degrees in mornings when youbhave to check out at 11am. We were maybe 3rd guest for the night. And they charged me $412 tax for the one night. What a load of crap. Not worth it. Room wasnt special. Bed creaked and lifted when i ssat on end of bed. Never go here unless you go summer. MAYBE it will be ok. Building needs to be cleaned of cobwebs and weather like damage on outside of rooms. Wished I had checked it out befre deciding to book. Obviously would not have. But towels were great. Does have small microwave and a fireplace that works.
