Bad bits first. Despite previous communication via email on our arrival time and confirmation of this on the very day of our arrival our host was a no show. We were left standing in the street for over an hour whilst we tried to call the helpline and engage in a webchat with the hosting company. When someone eventually called us they compounded the situation by lying to us, claiming that someone had been out to us and we were not there. Eventually they sent someone and the lady apologized for the "confusion" There was no confusion on our part!! You might have expected a complementary bottle of wine or something by way of apology but there was not so much as a bottle of mineral water in the apartment.
That said, the apartment is spacious and ideally situated in the old port. Everything within an easy walk, a great pizza place just downstairs. City tours and even boat trips to Portofino just around the corner. The place is right by a metro station so is busy, with people on the street throughout the night but you are very well insulated from the noise with the windows closed and there is air conditioning. The apartment security seemed very good and we had no security concerns.
