Had to track down staff to check in. Staff did not even greet us - just asked for our names… strange welcome. Not too friendly staff at breakfast either. Did not feel a warm welcome. Also, room during the night was as bright as in daytime - black out curtains would be nice. Otherwise nice and comfortable lodge on a good location with nice surroundings.

Our stay at the Grand Idyllwild Lodge was nothing short of magical. We were greeted with warm hospitality and breathtaking mountain views from the moment we arrived. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and filled with thoughtful touches that made it feel extra special. Enjoying my coffee on the deck surrounded by pine trees was a peaceful way to start the day. The room was super cozy and the bed actually was super comfortable! Really enjoyed the private deck, the little golf putting course. Their simple continental breakfast is actually super amazing and their dining nook is adorable with a great view of the trees snd rock face. Definitely would stay here again and enjoy their library. Only complaint is the room could of been cleaner down around the tables, there was still some dust and hair. Otherwise room was nice and clean with fresh towels, plus robes!!

The place has gone down hill. Signs of delayed maintenance every where. They lost their attention to detail. Our sheets had a large rip in very visible location. The bathroom had been repainted very sloppily and amenities (umbrellas on the private Sout facing deck) were missing and unavailable. What a difference 5 years makes. We wont be returning.

Driving up, the lodge looked calm and relaxing. The staff at check-in was really friendly. The only downside was that the shower was not very clean (sticky walls). The rooms fridge was leaking. Also, after a day of enjoying the small town of Idyllwild, I wanted to watch some TV. However, it did not work.

Beautiful property close to town. Rooms are spacious and well equipped. Bed is comfortable. A very helpful front desk. Romantic fireplace and a fire pit. We will be back again. Thanks for a wonderful time.

A beautiful and peaceful weekend in a comfortable and scenic place. Dan and Sean were wonderful. The entire staff was friendly and willing to help. The lodge is within easy walking distance to restaurants and coffee shops. We will be back.

Absolutely magical stay! This Lodge was so beautiful. We loved the Memory Suite— the cozy fireplace and incredibly comfortable bed made it feel like a home away from home. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive to all our needs. One of the highlights was relaxing in the jacuzzi under the night sky—pure bliss. Highly recommend for a peaceful escape!

Rustic Views Paired with Refined Luxuries

My wife and I took the two and half hour drive up from San Diego, before we even hit the road, Sean from the Lodge called to let us know early check in was available, when we got there it was so cozy, a rustic view with luxurious rooms and sitting areas including a fireplace and piano, Daniel, the manager was super friendly. Everyone who worked there was kind and offered great suggestions for Hikes and Dining. We spent three nights just lounging around, reading and star gazing after hiking and eating our way through the town. The hot tub, sauna, and gym were a nice surprise. Highly recommend to all who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of either LA or San Diego for the weekend.
