In the room it is cold. I notified about that three time reception. They didn't do anything. There is no longer breakfast buffet. There is serve breakfast and staff working very slowly to serve it. Free wine was like laboratory size.

The room was spotless, but more than that, the staff was extremely helpful, attentive and concerned when I became ill enough to need a doctor. The entire team--housekeepers, front of house staff, waiter, cooks--kept an eye on me, and made sure i was ok, and had everything i needed. I felt warmly cocooned, and I thank everyone.

Wonderful staff and nice hotel. Porto is a hilly city, so be prepared to walk, taxi or metro around. Editory Garden also connected to the Editory Art hotel. So you can wander around them both.

Newly build hotel in a quiet area but with easy walking distance to lots of restaurants and attractions. Rooms were very clean, comfortable and spacious. Air conditioning was just right. Beds were large and comfortable.

Would not recommend

Besides the beautiful architectural design of this hotel, it is quite rundown. Walls are scuffed, mould in the showers and unfortunately their air conditioning system is subpar. When we visited in July, the room temperature would not go below 25° and when we brought it up with management, they said that that is not uncommon during their peak heat season. Would definitely not recommend staying there in the summer months.

Lovely hotel . Very peaceful, relaxing space .Fabulous garden . Great breakfast . Couldn't find staff to order drinks/lunch . Extremely slow service . Staff seem to be new & not able to answer questions - although all very pleasant / friendly. Expedia website says - free bottle of wine . Misleading . You get a small vial of white port . Hotel also offers complimentary drink but small print says this too is a glass of port not a drink of your choice . Ground floor room at front of hotel was right on street with public walking past room . Could not open curtains etc.

Nice Retreat

Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Editory Garden - the garden offered a nice oasis of calm in what can be quite a busy city. Location is probably a little further out from the centre than we would have preferred, with a bit of an uphill walk from the Bolhão/Santa Catarina region which was a bit of a nuisance in the heat. I would say that breakfast seemed slightly overpriced for what was on offer and, as a coffee lover, the machine coffee left a lot to be desired. But if you're not in a rush, there are plenty of local cafes nearby. Staff were all very friendly and the bed comfy, with very good air conditioning. So overall, a good option if you don't mind a bit of a walk and aren't reliant on a 5 star breakfast.

Excellent staff

Lovely hotel in good location but the stars are the staff. I had air conditioning issue and tv issue and they sorted both out quickly which is sign of good service. Gabe the young man in the bar, only 18, serving drinks, snacks and taking dinner orders on his own was very happy, cheerful and professional. He should be promoted. Angelo on reception does a 1st class job as does Vania - her handwritten welcome notes really make a guest feel special. Thank you from a solo traveler.
