Don’t do it!! I stayed here before and thought I’d give it a second chance, big mistake. It’s called a hotel but when I went to bed around 9.30 I couldn’t even hear my tv from the noise at the bar. I called up and spoke to Laura who I asked when does the noise die down. Laura responded with well they’re locals and if you want to escalate it call head office. I knew it was a freehold but still, I asked for the number when Laura told me to google it. As it got louder I called again and Laura told me that we look after the locals and she’s never had a complaint in 2 years. I heard Laura and the regulars be rude about me as it was THAT loud. This hotel needs to decide whether it’s a hotel or a pub. Just don’t do it.

Check in wasn’t the most pleasant experience. It did say the pub would be open until 10 or 11pm. I arrived on a Sunday around 9pm and the door was locked so I called the number on the door and explained and the person just hang up on me and then opened the door and said something that it’s Sunday and they close early. Didn’t have any breakfast so can’t comment on that. Room was what I expected and would like to come back.

The outside of the building is not in the best condition and gives wrong impression. Rooms were lovely, clean and comfortable. Staff very nice. Free parking, free WiFi. Great for an overnight stay

Stay away!!

Appalling, only thing clean was bedding, boiling water coming from both hot and cold taps, trip hazzard from bathroom to bedroom re carpet away from floor. No kitchen facilities on site although was advertised for breakfast. Cleaning staff friendly and helpful. Apart from when we checked in there was never anyone around at reception so nobody to voice our complaints to. We were booked for a 3 night stay but left very early after one night to move to another hotel., didnt even unpack!! We would not have stayed that one night if we could have booked another hotel but it was bank holiday weekend and everywhere was booked up.

No restaurant available The beds, floors all squeaked. Carpet very old not fitting right in rooms and stairs. No hot water at all The tap in bathroom not fitted right it moves as you try to use it Shower just dribble out. No light in bathroom and they put lamp in there running off 2 extension leads totally unsafe Plug sockets not working. Cracks in celling Light bulbs missing When you flushed toilets the water leaked on floor no handle on pull chain for toilet just a hook bit you could cut yourself with. Door gripper rods sticking out and hurt foot on. Windows on 2nd floor dont stay open no safety catches on them. Other dont even open. Be carefully of pot holes as you walk in from car park

Tired Room!

On arrival the room looked lovely and we were happy. Once settling into our room we started to notice the problems. The wardrobe door came off its hinges when opening. The floor of the wardrobe was also broken and collapsed in on itself. The coffee tray was placed in a area with no plug. This tray also held the mirror up so once you move it the mirror closes. This was also the case the other side of dresser with a fan. The bathroom window didn't close fully and the bathroom blind didn't fit the window lay out correctly. The bathroom bin was broken and lid fell on the floor. The carpet was frayed and ill fitted leaving the trim and metal work/ spikes bare.
