There truly aren’t words to describe how wonderful our stay at El Mar Naxos was. From the rooms and facilities to the incredible staff, it felt like both a luxury hotel & spa and somehow also like home. The team here were some of the kindest and friendliest people I’ve ever met—they went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. At first, I was a little concerned about not being right in the heart of Old Town, but once I realized how quick and easy the walk was into town - and how peaceful and serene the hotel was with its absolutely stunning views from the hilltop - I was completely sold. The property offers just about every accommodation you could want, and it’s clear how much care goes into running this family-owned hotel. I truly couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay in Naxos. We’ll definitely be back. This is too good to gatekeep - do yourself a favor and book. I promise this is the most genuine, unprompted review I’ve ever written.

What an amazing place! They really got it right! Location is excellent. Just at the edge of old town, but secluded and quiet! We had the 2 bedroom villa with outdoor hot tub, full kitchen, 2 bathrooms, outdoor private yard. It was perfect. Breakfast was fresh and healthy! Rooms are spotlessly clean, large, great AC, nice showers and ammenities. Gym, spa, yoga space all excellent! The staff was friendly and kind, and there for any whim, yet gave you privacy. The owner scrubs the place herself to be sure it is above standard!!!! Met us with a fantastic home made soda!! Walking distance to grocery store and to town. So convenient. The gardens around and between the villas were ablaze with blooms. I sent photos to my gardening friends in The USA daily, as they want to replicate these gardens there, a haven for pollinators! And, best of all, they have Anastasia at reception. What a wonderful warm, friendly, helpful person. She made our stay above 5 stars. If I can rate El Mar 10 stars, I would. After seeing the other places around town, I can say, the only place to stay on Naxos is El Mar! Great job, above and beyond the rest! Thank you for a great 4 nights!

I highly recommend this hotel! Not only is the hotel itself beautiful and immaculate, the owner Nipo and the staff is what makes this hotel so special. 5 star service all the way. Rooms are furnished with high quality furniture. The included breakfast is great. Many options and fresh fruits. The staff take great care of all their guest and are very attentive. Nipo, the owner went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. Definitely a hotel I would stay the next time I’m in Naxos. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and family. 5 start hotel and service all the way!

Hotel is in the middle of nowhere

Due to a very extreme situation, I had to check out after staying only 1 night, even though I still had 2 more nights left. As a goodwill gesture, they could have at least refunded 1 night or half a night, but they refused to return any money—even though the issue I faced was a very important matter for me. As for the hotel itself: it is built on a barren hilltop, surrounded by what could be considered derelict buildings. You cannot walk anywhere from there—if you don’t have a car, you simply cannot leave the hotel. Perhaps it is one of the island’s most expensive hotels, but the surroundings are dreadful; it feels like you are in the middle of nowhere. In my opinion, their manager Christina is a very rude woman. When I reached out to her about my problem, she told me she would call me back, but she never did. Later we corresponded by email, and they replied with a generic template response instead of actually trying to solve my problem. The only positive aspect was the receptionist who welcomed us—she was very kind. Other than that, I would not recommend staying here. When you see the location of the hotel, you will be shocked. Walking outside, you wouldn’t even know if a dog might attack you or something might happen to you in the fields

I cannot say enough what an incredible place this is. The owner was on site each day greeting guests and assisting with whatever needed to be done.. The staff were awesome. They all couldn’t do enough. The food was excellent and the rooms were outstanding. It was definitely a spa feeling. 10/10! We would definitely go back!

Can’t say enough about this property. Excellent rooms, fantastic breakfast, great pool, bar service was awesome, and best part….the staff. Nophie (owner) was so accomodating while Trien (spelling?? chef/bartender) was a magician. Highly recommend this place and we’ll be returning.

Everything about this property is 5 stars. The staff were helpful, professional and provided excellent customer service. A peaceful and relaxing experience. The sunset views on the large balcony were remarkable. Room and properly amenities were top notch. Nothing was missing! Pascal was especially helpful, the owner made a point of welcoming us and the housekeeper and bartender were pleasant and accommodating.

Enjoyable

Very nice place, quiet location, no stress, everything very beautiful, high ambitions. 15 min walk from downtown Naxos. Poolbar open all day with reasonable prices, very friendly and helpful in reception.

Our stay at El Mar was simply wonderful. Concierge service was amazing. The hotel feels like a boutique style hotel. Olympia our main concierge was so warm and welcoming, she was there to answer all our question and make restaurant reservation and book our car service… just very accommodation. There was another concierge who was there at our arrival and he was just as great! The property itself was just beautiful, our suite was beyond clean and stunningly decorated. I will definitely be back. Can’t say enough nice things about El Mar. The location is great as it’s quiet and secluded but safe. It’s walkable maybe 15 min. to town. We just preferred to take taxis as it was hot. Will definitely be returning.

Excellent accommodation with very friendly staff and in a very good location. Close to the city both on foot and by car. Easy parking in the area next to the hotel. Very good breakfast. Excellent view of the country. Very clean and with Wifi signal (free) everywhere. The information they gave us about routes, attractions and food-entertainment were all reliable. Highly recommended!
