Back in El Salvador at Majahual Resort!

Our first stop for our annual El Salvador trip. We arrived later than usual but enjoyed getting in to rest for our scheduled adventures. We enjoyed our stay and was glad it wasn't too crowded.

Overpriced and under performed

The hotel was rundown and is in shanty part of town. The beach is not the best and was very busy for Semana Santa. The food we ordered from the restaurant was pretty good. The cleaning staff tried to charge us for dirty towels which were just dirty from the black sand from the beach. Overpriced.

The Majahual hotel is a beautiful well kept, clean common areas, easy access from the road, and minutes walk to the Majahual Beach. However, the staff should point out that you must request room cleaning, towels, garbage taken out, etc. Found that out because we left the hotel for a whole day and found they didn’t do any of that.

First off, the staff is limited and paid no attention to us, only when we went out of our room and asked if we would eat there so the staff would stay longer, if not then leave early. The food was not good- expired refried beans and poor complimentary breakfast- but many nearby restaurants. The rooms are big with tv and air conditioning, but the beds and pillows were horrible- very uncomfortable.

Service was ok. They don’t change bed sheets and bath towel or toilet paper. They don’t have much varieties of menu. Breakfast is included but only two options free. The food quality is poor and pricey. Overall experience I would give one star!

It was a wonderful stay for us. The food was great and the service was excellent. The place is clean, convenient and safe, and very quiet at night I can only hear the rain and soft noise of the air conditioning which was awesome. The beach is within few minutes of walking distance, as well as shopping places for beach clothes, floaties for the kids, souvenirs,sunscreen, and other dining places. The hotel also has showers outside to clean the sand off before using the swimming pool, and I loved that we can order food and drinks while enjoying more swimming in the pool with the family. They have bus shuttles and other car services for small tour services, depending how many people. I asked for a tour guide for a day and Carlos the Manager, managed to get us an individual tour just for our family at a very good price, I want to thank Carlos with all my heart for making our stay even more special because he was always very pleasant, accommodating, and motivated, attentive to our needs and all the food we asked for even if is not in the menu, he managed to please my family with pizza, pupusas, even tamales de gallina😀, my family are very satisfied and very happy we had an amazing time at mahajual stay. Gracias Carlos Alexander por todo y esperamos verlo algún día and nuestro próximo viaje. También los muchachos que lo ayudan, muchas gracias Herson, Adalberto y el señor del tour Alejandro, por todo hicieron nuestra estancia muy cómoda y muy agradable todos muchísimas gracias!
