Check in experience needs revamping. Having to go to 3 different locations to check in is unacceptable. A resort fee should include the amenities. The room smelled musty and doors needed work. A full packet of papers just to check in is also unacceptable.

Always be alert!!!

We were really comfortable at Fox Run. It was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the amenities. We did get to see a black bear. We were unloading the car. When we went back out the bear had gotten into my car and pulled my cooler out.He ate a box of tacco shells and drank a gallon of milk. Then he went on his way. It was a little frightening, but it all turned out well. Next time the cooler and dry food will be the first thing we take in.

Pool and gym require extra fees to use. One is required to pay for the pool and gym for every day of the reservation times the number of guests in the room even if you only use the pool once on a multi day stay. Further the images representing Lake Lure do not show that the lake was partially drained and there is no beach or water access due to repairs from past storm damage. The room was good but this was nowhere near the vacation I expected. Canceled our 10 day stay to go elsewhere instead of paying high fees for a basic hotel gym and pool. I now ask when I book hotels, is the lake drained and does the pool and gym cost extra. At which point the booking agents laugh at these questions.

Place was dirty, tried to message the property owner/booker yesterday because our flights were so delayed and we wanted to cancel and get a return and stay at a closer hotel. Never heard back so ended up driving to this property and didn’t arrive till 430 am, and then had someone knocking on the door at 1020 am saying it was time to check out. Place was dirty, bedsheets. And very musty smelling.

Will keep going

Great value for money. Single dad of a 6 year old. All he wants to do is swim. The pools are great, and restaurants etc are very convenient. The condos are dated, but clean. We've been going for about 4 years and we love it.

So disappointed! There was bugs in the bathroom in the beds everywhere I have videos and pictures called had to be moved rooms at 12 o’clock at night then they move me to another villa that had bugs and black mold! Wouldn't even look at the photos videos and proof I had the bathtub didn’t even work so had to put my toddlers in a shower! They wouldent give me a free night due to me having to move and our first night being ruined so we got a late start the next day as well! Expedia is still trying to get me a refund! I still had to pay 6$ per person for the pool and stuff every day we was there they was so unprofessional and rude and I was not the only guest dealing with the same issues! Ruined my only family trip for the year! And they don’t care don’t wanna do anything about it! It’s sad that you travel to put money back into this place because they had so much damage from the hurricane and then this is how your treated you would think they would want people to visit but I will never stay there again! And I will get a refund or something done or I will get a lawyer the black mold the bugs the broken bathtub the dirty sheets and dead bugs everywhere is uncalled for and again I met other guest dealing with the same issues!!

It was our first time staying at a resort like this and the experience was awesome. The Lakeside restraint had extremely slow service. But the condo was clean and quiet and perfect! We will be coming back!
