I rang to ask if I could have early booking because I and my son were going to a wedding, I was told we can only give you an hour which wasn't great as the mini bus left at that time. As I was driving to the hotel the reception phoned me and said if I wanted to keep the resivation I would have to give my card number now. I said I was driving and would be arriving in 5 mins could I give the details then , having already received a confirmation booking by email, I was told no I had to pull over and give my details there and then or I would loose the booking. When we arrived at the hotel we booked in, however as the system was down the could not take my card details, confusing ? I then requested that have early entry to the room it was a further 40 mins before we got into the room. I did confirm that it was the crown plaza that had called earlier and it was not a hoax.The room was excellent, very clean and everything worked. When I went to check out the clerk asked for the card key, abruptly checked it out, said nothing about did you enjoy your stay or will you be visiting again, made no eye contact and got on with his business. The corridors were crowded with cleaners and dirty linen.
