Modest hotel, good price - quality ratio

I arrived late at night. Everyone was nice, and most of the staff could speak Spanish and English in addition to their native Portuguese. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The place looked a little old, but that’s not a bad thing to me because, as I said, they were clean and comfortable. I’ll stay there in a future visit to Rio.

Only one elevator was working. Since there are 13 floors and people going on and off, you had to wait a very long time to use it. Not very clean with the toilet paper being stained upon arrival. The staff was not helpful either.

My experience at Hotel Atlântico Tower was very disappointing, especially during check-out. I had a night flight and asked if I could wait in the lobby or use some of the facilities after checking out, as I had a long wait ahead. I wasn't even asking for a room — just somewhere to stay comfortably while I was still a guest in the country. I was also willing to consume something inside the hotel (food, drinks, etc.). Despite this, the staff were completely unhelpful and even rude in their tone. They didn’t offer any support or alternatives and made it very clear I wasn’t welcome to stay. To make things worse, they charged me to store my suitcase — something that many hotels offer as a courtesy. Their customer service was seriously lacking, and they didn’t seem to know how to handle simple guest requests. Also, during my stay, I had asked for my room to be cleaned, but when I came back later, it was exactly as I had left it — dirty and untouched. No explanation, no adjustment, nothing. It felt like they simply didn’t care about guest comfort at all. This was the last hotel I stayed at in Rio de Janeiro, and unfortunately, it left a very bad impression just before leaving the country. For the price they charge, I expected much better service and a more professional attitude. I do not recommend Hotel Atlântico Tower, and I really hope they improve their customer service and basic hospitality standards.

HARD STAY @ SOFT OPENING

The hotel was very centrally located in the city center. The check in process was fairly easy so I was optimistic because the lobby looked pretty clean and modern. at first glance, The room looked clean and tidy. But there were numerous thinigs in need of repair or replacing. Most noteably, the beds. Both "double beds" mattresses were tattered, torn and riddles with holes, which wasn't hard to see because the only bedding was twin size mattress pad under a tucked flat sheet, and a second flat sheet. two black accent pillow that (without a black light) had visible crusted stains on both! In the closet was an additional, dingy white "comforter" that had seen better days and was stained. The pool, was cloudy and merky, but the bartender Fabio was amazing. The food at the restaurant was amazing but the fried chicken turned me off when I tore off a piece and busted a vein. Ew. All in all, for rhis to be a "SOFT OPENING", there were too many things unfinished and ill maintained to open soft or hard.

O check-in foi rápido, o atendente simpático e prestativo. O colchao é de molas, para quem nao tem problemas na coluna , ok. Porém pra quem tem nao aconselho, o banheiro estava com bastante mofo, box tbm, o chuveiro com bastante vazão, a tv pega quando quer, acho que por conta do sinal fraco de internet, ar estava ok, roupas de cama e banho estavam com manchas antigas, mas estavam todos limpos pra uso, piscina muito boa, academia, bar da piscina tbm. Wi-Fi nao funciona nem na area da recepcao, sinal muito fraco. Cafe da manha muito bom( frios, bolo, paes fresquinhos, fritas tbm. A area do hotel e proximo a tudo, mas precisa ter muita atencao, nada de ficar ostentando. Tem muitas pessoas moradores de rua, precisa ter empatia, eles pedem constantemente. Enfim, no geral avalio com boa a estadia, para aquelas pessoas que nao estam em busca de luxo e sim praticidade e sossego para uma estadia curta, custo beneficio atende muito bem.

O café da manhã não tem quase nada de opções, serviço de arrumação é na sorte... pode ser que arrumem e pode ser que não... e quando arrumarem, não espere muita coisa. A cama do quarto é horrível! Parece um colchão de água! Ar condicionado e chuveiro não regula! Tentaram cobrar almoço 2 vezes, uma no ato e outra no check-out (foram incisivos até mostrarmos o comprovante) organização zero aparentemente. Agua do banheiro barrenta e cartão do quarto desconectando a cada dia... precisa ir na recepção liberar. Não voltamos mais.

No quarto o mobiliário era desgastado, limpeza péssima, colchão não anatômico, muito desconfortável. No quarto, o bom era o ar condicionado e, só. No café da manhã, como já declarei pouca variedade de opções saudáveis, doces de padaria, muita massa pouco recheio. O suco era uma água muito doce com o sabor de alguma “fruta”, intragável. Não tomo café e nem leite, pedi um chá, a resposta foi de que vendem o chá separadamente, nem quis perguntar o valor. Comprei no mercado um pacote de chá e, pedia apenas a água quente, tendo que ir buscar na porta da cozinha. A água da piscina, que não entrei, estava turva, nada convidativa. Os funcionários não eram ruins, mas não se esforçavam para a melhoria do ambiente “cumpriam tabela”. Este hotel, foi uma propaganda enganosa, me sujeitei a permanecer pois já havia efetuado o pagamento. Eu deveria ter reservado para 1 ou 2 dias, e depois decidir, mas fiquei receosa de não encontrar algum outro hotel disponível.
