Dated, thin walls. Stay elsewhere if you can

First off the parking in front is limited but offers a drop off and there is a car park across the street. Check in was quick & easy. The gentleman helping at reception was friendly and gave us the run down of the hotel from the bar/ restaurant and the pool/sauna rules. The hotel is very dated and could use some work. The walls are very thin and you could hear everything! The hallway light is left on and you can see it through the door to your room. Our hair dryer was not working, tv didn’t work properly and the shower head leaked causing the floor to get soaked. Front desk was very helpful with getting us another hair dryer and fixing the TV for us promptly. There’s a bar for getting in & out of the shower which is nice since it’s a pretty big step in. It wasn’t the worst but I probably won’t be back anytime soon.

Fantastic stay. Nice welcome from.reception staff. Room was fantastic, Superior double scenic view could not fault it. Dinner in hotel was really good, 3 course set menu. Leisure facilities was clean and tidy and perfect to relax in. My dogs were made most welcome. Grounds perfect for a wee wander with them. Breakfast was buffet style and had great choice of continental and freshly cooked. Overall our stay was very good with all staff being extremely helpful. We will be back.

A terrible nights sleep

Uncomfortable bed, lying on my side hurt due to how hard the bed was. We had a massive room and a tiny double bed. Hotel is dated. Around 2.30am there was music reverberating through the room, my husband went downstairs to find two large speakers plugged into an iPhone blaring our music, which he unplugged, but there was no one around. Shower was very hot and hard to find a balance between scolding and freezing. As we went to check out, another client was having an argument at reception, as we had to get going for our onward journey, we left the key without saying anything about the lack of sleep all night.

The hotel infrastructure has definitely seen better days, thin walls means you hear the other rooms talking, snoring, toilets and water flushing. The cleanliness was good and the staff pleasant, but dingy lighting and faded fraying carpets and smokers sitting right outside the entrance doors means that the overall impression is not great.

Nice hotel , friendly staff. Food was lovely was highlight of stay. Shower not that great could be doing with modernization, blind in bathroom too small for window. From 5/6am the doors closing extremely noisy because of Yale lock on doors.

Disappointed

Very tired hotel, poor service beyond reception and no flexibility to guest needs or requirements given at all. I asked at the bar if I could eat outside at 8.35/40pm ish after letting the receptionist know how hungry we were after a long days drive. The bar said yes but then when I asked for a menu in the same minute said no the kitchen closed at 8.15pm. He offered me a local takeaway menu or a bag of crisps. After serving me a drink a lady approached the bar and asked if she could order deserts - he took her order. Will not be revisiting as my mid way stop on my next trip to the highlands. Such a shame after such high hopes from Pitlochry. Just a really unpleasant experience.
