Tiny toilet

The bed was high to get into and very soft the mattress could use replacing me and my husband both woke up with back pain . The place Was old and beautiful and it sits on The Mississippi River with a beautiful view. The free breakfast was very good with great service. The commode in our room was very low to the ground. I have had bilateral knee replacements which made it hard on me to get off the toilet.

Not so good

Great location. Second stay here. Bathroom was in terrible shape. Mold in tub corners, and was dirty. Wall was in disrepair, and sink faucet leaking. Toilet ran all the time. Staff was nice, bartender was great and full of historical knowledge.

I’d keep looking if I were you…

We were actually pretty disappointed with this stay. We have stayed several times over the years, but we will be finding a new spot for future visits. The elevator was continuously out of service, and when it did work, it felt like you probably shouldn’t be using it. I actually got stuck on one the last morning we were there for a few minutes. There was also mold in the bathroom as seen in the picture. This hotel is in desperate need of some TLC!!

Nice hotel but needs a few things.

As a 25 year firefighter and current Fire Marshal of the city i serve i see things differently. Leaving my room i usually take the stairs at least onece. Checking for blockages, exit signs and emergency lighting for my safety. I was very disappointed to find zero functioning emergency lights in the 3rd floor hall or either stair well. Not one single one. I am reaching out to local fire officials so they may assist hotel staff in bringing fire safety features in to code compliance.

Read all reviews before booking

Check in was at 4 pm. I made it at 10 pm. When I got to the desk she said it will be a few minutes because they were having issues with the tv.🚩 I said if had came at 4 then what would have been your excuse then?🚩 When i got to the room it wasn't what I booked.🚩I booked a double, 2 queen beds and I had 1 bed🚩 so she told me it was because of who i booked it through 🚩i said ok fine. After 10 minutes in the room I see all the flying insects all over the room so I went and got staff to come see for herself. She took pictures of the insects but informed me I couldn't be put another room because they were booked for the night. She gave me some insect spray but never offered a refund. I prayed 🙏 and stayed but was afraid to sleep because of the insects flying and crawling around everywhere. I was in room 418. Also the elevators were broken and people had to wait like 20 minutes just to go from the 4th floor to the 1st floor. Overall, a bad experience. I'll never go back. Oh...and she said, I'll have to charge you for parking and wifi and I said even yall gave me the wrong room and bugs are everywhere? And she said, we'll just waive those fees. Location was great and other guests were friendly was the plus out of it. I rate my stay 3 out of 10.

Overall good experience

It’s a beautiful location. When we checked in I wasn’t aware of the mandatory $17.95 charge per room for the use of the amenities. It may have said it in the description & if so that’s my fault. We got 2 rooms & one smelled of pot & the other had wet carpet with fans blowing on it. The front desk did get us 2 new rooms quickly & they were nice.
