Family Vacation Worth a Lifetime of Memories

Very happy with everything offered at Barcelo Maya Palace. The cleanliness and upkept of everything was amazing. Food offered was incredible - great variety every nice and hospitality was on point, at your side whenever you needed them, from the room, lobby, buffet, beach or poolside. The shuttle service was very helpful for whenever we wanted to travel - wherever. Only downfall I would say is that is quite a bit of distance from Cancun excursions which made for quite a drive to get places/cost as well. Overall, I would give Barcelo a 10/10 - Made for an incredible family vacation long overdue and it was the perfect location for all of us, from adults to teenagers to enjoy our time and relaxation for a reasonable cost and comfort. Best of all - Our family photos along the beach are memories that will be cherish for a lifetime.

Pesimo servicio y ya no es lo de antes!!!!

Ne trataron tan mal pir un error que no fue mio que inclyso me dijeron, despues de pagarles una diferencia que no estuve de acuerdo en pagar, que si no firmaba de conformidad, no me iban a entregar la habitacion a pesar que eran las 9 pm, y la gerente general defendió el comportamiento de su personal, no vayan!!! Los atracan por complicidad y la calidad ha caido mucho, hay mejores opciones y no tienen que lidiar con esa gente.

El servicio -en general- del personal es muy bueno, salvo recepción que no son muy serviciales. El hotel es muy grande y tiene muchos restaurantes, pero si van grupos de mas de 6 se complican las reservas "porque no hay tantas mesas". El buffet siempre es lo mismo, muy repetitivo y el personal no es capaz de retirar los platos y hay que estarlos llamando a cada rato. Las albercas son impresionantes y la de los pequeños tene toboganes y suficiente espacio. Eso si, la gente aparta los camastros desde muy temprano y se vuelve muy difícil encontrar uno (y mas si va un grupo grande), aun y cuando hay letreros de "no apartar" no hacen nada por impedirlo, mejor deberian quitar sus carteles. El ultimo dia de nuestra estancia, una persona del hotel tocó la puerta de nuestra habitacion hasta que logro despertarnos (8 am), su respuesta fue que estaba revisando algo, no supo explicar que fue, parece que su actividad es despertar a los huespedes en su último día, ya que paso lo mismo en los otros 3 cuartos de la familia. En general buen hotel, fue nuestra segunda visita y a mi parecer ha bajado la calidad de los alimentos y el servicio en general. No se si volveria...

I will never again stay at this hotel. This was my second year going to this hotel and both times I had to request a room change upon arrival because the room smelled like mold and everything was wet. I know it’s very humid and there’s condensation but it was really bad. Even the supervisor agreed the smell was strong when he entered the room. That was settled but my mom ended up having an accident on the property and the staff was very rude and the hotel was not ready to respond. The telephone was not working in her room and we urgently needed medical attention!! I had to knock on doors until someone answered and ask if they could please call the front desk for assistance. The ambulance was called and the hotel and paramedics were worried about getting paid instead of getting my mom to the hospital. After being treated at the hospital she was needing a wheelchair. My brother gave the reception area more than a two hour notice to have one available for her and when I arrived with her there was not one available. The staff kept saying they didn’t have one and were being very rude. We waited a long time for them to find one. In total we were party of 24 there celebrating my daughter’s graduation and the hotel and their staff ruined it for us.

We had an accident during the stay. The hotel rooms are not equipped for emergencies. Phone was not working in the hotel room, we found out when we tried calling the front desk for help. Had to run knocking on doors for help to call the front desk. Everyone we encountered took advantage and charged extra for everything we needed. The hotel room had many things not working that had to be replaced during the stay. The floors are slippery especially when the A.C. goes out and leaves the entire beds, clothes, and floors wet!! Will never go back and will never recommend this place.

Family of 5 adults. Room is spacious and in great condition. Facility is very well kept. Excellent restaurants and buffet food. Lots of seaweed during our stay, but we were able to find spots with few seaweed to enjoy the beach. Pool is good. 6 connected resorts (one owner) make it a very long beach walk from one end to the other. My wife and I enjoy our long walk after dinner. We have been in Riviera Cancun area every year for 25 years, been in other Barcelo's resorts including Riviera, but this is our first time in Palace, definitely will return.

Very nice pools. Not a good beach area. Especially for kids. Seaweed, rocky on the sand. No workers came to the beach to ask guests for drinks. Staff was great except when trying to get footage from an assault I consent that happened. And nothing happened to the person who assaulted me
