Relaxing tradition

Helpful, accommodating, friendly staff. Delicious daily complimentary breakfast. Some good choices for lunch and dinner. Appealing resort setting and style without crowded deep beachfront. Trees, shade. Responsive , easy communications while planning. Good transportation from and to airport. Room cleaning could improve a little. All in all, a really good choice.

The location was ideal as it is next to westbay beach one of the nicest on the island, also water taxi accesible. The rooms a bit outdated, dark, showers were very tight and also dark no light there at all and shower knob was broken. They are kept clean and the space does the job, basic. I wish breakfast had been more filling as it was literally to feed a 4 yr old. Maybe one empanada and if you're lucky one boiled egg that day. They could do better! The restaurant food was really good! Priced about the same as the other restaurants around. It definitely is an expensive island! The small beach next the hotel is sand flee infested i do not recommend sitting there just walk over to west bay beach. All staff were friendly and kind!

This place grew on me the longer we stayed. I Was originally UNDERwelmed but the longer we were there, I LOVED it. It is rustic and Quiet and has a great location. The restaurant had great food, the Happy hour 3-6 was great! The staff were all nice. It was with walking distance to most everything and if not you could grab a water taxi rite off the pier. Diving or Snorkeling is on site! Things you should know, there is No TV (if that's your thing), and bring your own beach towel. My only recommendations for the resort are: the rooms need a safe for personal belongings and the room keys need a more efficient way beside Key on a block of wood. Other than that We LOVED it and will be back to the Las Rocas Resort.

The staff and guest connect with you and get to know your name because of the limited amount of rooms which is excellent. I traveled solo and instantly met other solo divers and connected. All of the activities are very close and the restaurant is very good with good prices. Dive masters are excellent and very helpful.

Everything about this place is absolutely wonderful! All of the staff (see Winston at the restaurant/bar!) are fantastic, so friendly and welcoming. The dive shop staff are equally excellent. I loved diving there, so quick to the reef and a healthy marine environment. The cabanas are all nice, rather rustic, all wood, balcony/deck on all (I had a 2nd floor, recommended!), quite comfortable and relaxing if you're not expecting "resort" wows. Super convenient location. Water taxi's easy to get, just sit on the red bench my diving boats and you will get going soon. Gumbalimba preserve is a 7 minute walk north on the beach. They have a zip line, monkeys, parrots, iguanas and a nice lush property. I will definitely go back!

Our rating has dropped, just doesn't seem to be as great as it was in past. The snorkeling off resort anytime we want is why we go. Lots of different plants and fish to explore without being crowded. Taxi was waiting for us at the airport and driver stopped by market for us to stock up on water and snacks. At the resort we were taken to the office for check in while our bags were delivered to our rooms. Check out was also great. Cleanliness is at the same high standard around resort itself and in the rooms. Most of the staff were great and always had a smile. The exception is the bar/restaurant staff that never smile, slow service and seem put out when you ask for anything. Got to the point we would just go find what we needed instead of waiting for waiter. Food is still good but not great and was horribly slow even when we were the only ones there. Property condition is good, and the new deck is a nice but could use a sunshade. There are signs of aging and places that need maintenance but are acceptable. The beach is unusable. The tree that provides shade is infested with worms that constantly drop on you if you sit there so it is not relaxing/usable. They shouldn't say a fridge is included. It is filled with their stuff leaving no room for yours. $15 if you want it emptied, and I was told I would be charged if I removed it myself. Banging scuba tanks around early in the morning is annoying. Still a good place to stay but they need to address some issues.
