This place was, well, a dump with a pretty lobby. The person who checked me in was very nice, and the person who finally fixed my television on the second night of my stay was nice, too. Other than that, it was hell. Unfortunately, my work timeline in the area did not allow me time or money to move to a different property.
Let's rundown:
Room had a funny smell, I don't think the carpet had ever been shampooed,
the AC filter had not been changed in YEARS,
the mattress was way past its prime,
the seal around the tub leaked,
the fixtures were terribly dirty,
the phone in the room was disgusting and didn't work, but I had to unplug it because it kept running a dial tone,
the TV didn't work the first night,
the bathroom had cobwebs and dead bugs,
there was no metal door latch, just the standard deadbolt (kept a heavy wagon in front of the door for safety),
and LIVE COCKROACHES IN THE ROOM! (I have photographic evidence)
The tub and sink definitely needed deep cleaning,
and the mattress pad was stained.
Ugh. I did not bother eating breakfast, for safety's sake. But the best part was at 2:35 AM someone right outside my window starting smoking pot and blaring music. I tried calling the front desk MANY TIMES, but no answer! I finally had to call the police to get it to stop. And at 9am, SAME MUSIC, SAME CAR, and no office staff around! So nobody actually formally gave me a checkout.
This place needs its franchise removed, and needs a visit from the health department.
