Hirschenplatz Fountain

A reasonably priced converted wooden hotel, with friendly assistance from the restaurant on the ground floor when we had difficulty logging into the self-service teller machine. The room has an ancient feel of medieval stories. Please bring your own earmuffs for sleeping.

Was a convenient hotel in the middle of old town Lucerne. Self check in was very easy. Room was basic, but met our needs. There was no elevator from ground floor to first floor, but we were made aware of this when booking.

Der Self-Check in war praktisch - das Hotel an und für sich eher ungemütlich. Es gibt zB keine Lobby und im Zimmer gab es auch keinen Schreibtisch oder ähnliches. Das Bett war recht unbequem und als ich ankam musste ich erstmal für mehrere Stunden lüften weil es sehr "müffelig" und feucht roch.

Petite chambre, mais propre et confortable

Petite chambre, donnant sur un mur, du coup assez "oppressante". Bien pour une nuit de passage. Mais la salle de douche était super, moderne, et le lit très confortable, et très grand. Un petit frigo, très appréciable. L'emplacement est bien situé, proche gare et bus, en centre ville. Check in et out entièrement informatisé, nous n'avons vu personne, mais s'est bien passé.

Wouldn’t recommend, even for the cost savings

The check-in process was a nightmare. They said in the email that we could drop our luggage off at 10:30 but no one was there to help. They messed up the details of my reservation and it took soooo long to sort out and get me in my room. We only had 1 day to enjoy Lucerne and the surrounding area and it took 2 hours to get my luggage and room sorted. The room is in really rough shape and the overhead lights were BOTH burnt out so the only light we had in the evening was a small reading light attached to the bed. The no AC was expected but the higher than normal August temperatures made the room extremely uncomfortable. Honestly, the hassle of trying to get into this room and store our luggage safely was so rough that I would NOT recommend booking this hotel. (And I almost never leave reviews — it was truly just that bad.)

Stayed in a single economy room which was a tiny space but perfect for a solo traveler. Was not able to use safe as it was locked when i arrived. Was not able to use the self check in due to the fact that American credit card didn't have a pin to check in. Perfect location to roam around Lucerne. Just the basics but clean.

Wonderful Location!!!!

Great location in the old city!!! Liked the room. No AC but fan was ok, the beams are the ambiance but the hazard. Elevator but it pnly starts one floor up so luggage has to go up one flight of stairs. Refridgerator did not work. Bed had some serious lumps. Would definitely stay again. Self checkin went smoothly except they only show your room number once. MEMORIZE IT QUICKLY, IT WILL NOT BE ON YOUR KEY CARD!

Not a good experience.

The room was very small and hot as there is no air conditioning, the wi-fi was spotty at best. We had to park a long way away from the hotel in a multi story car park. Street access to the building was limited. The room only had 3 plugs one in the bathroom and one was being used by the fan so charging electronics was an issue. Even though we booked and paid for 2 days we only stayed one night and moved on as it was very uncomfortable.
