The Hotel Mondego was a very good place to stay. The location was perfect. The people were very friendly and helpful. My wife noticed that there were chocolates in the room on the first day but not on subsequent days. She asked about it and was told it was a first-day-only gift. But soon, we were receiving chocolates on other days as well. The room was always clean. The bed was comfortable. There was one problem, though. The window in the bathroom was frosted glass, but there was no curtain or shade. At night, when you were using the bathroom (with the lights on, of course), you could easily see shapes and motion in the bathroom when looking from the street. I included a frame from a video I took where I asked my wife to wave as I observed from across the street. I was pretty surprised at what I was able to see. I think it would be pretty obvious what was going on if I were to be undressing, or drying off after a shower, or "using the facilities". I showed the video to the staff and suggested they put up a curtain or a shade. At night, we always used the bathroom with the lights off. There was enough "street light" coming in to the bathroom to be able to see but with the lights off, privacy was not an issue.
