After reading the reviews, I was really looking forward to my stay at Hotel de gale.
Unfortunately, due to a flight cancellation, I informed the Hotel I was going to be arriving a day late and To please hold my reservation. I told him I would gladly 4 forfeit my first night as I simply could not arrive with my flight disruption.
Upon arrival, I was informed my reservation had been completely cancelled and they had no rooms available. I was shocked, as I had informed the Hotel I was going to be arriving a day late and please hold my room. The front desk did not make any effort to accommodate me and basically said your reservation is cancelled and goodbye..
I think people that stay at this hotel in the future might want to keep my experience in mind, as they just don’t seem very prepared to give any kind of service. I was really looking forward to coming back and spending some more time in albufeira, as the area is beautiful. This experience with the Hotel de gale has soured my outlook on the area, and I don’t think I’ll return.
