Nice Hotel

We had free upgrade room 16 . Room had nice view of the garden from the balcony. The room was a bit tired.furniture had a few knocks and the bathroom had mold on bath and tiles. Nice touch with free gin in the room. The staff very friendly but on the Sunday needed extra staff. The spa was nice and clean. The restaurant was nice and staff good service. Breakfast was good. Just disappointed you have to pay for car parking

Lovely

Always a lovely stay at this hotel; small and personal with very attentive staff. The spa is a great addition and the grounds are lovely. The restaurant menu is limited for vegetarians and this is my only critique, other than the surcharge for parking which felt a little like an upsell. Nonetheless, I will be back!

This is a very nice stay in the heart of grasmere Small but nice spa Food quality was excellent Was able to charge my car Gardens were very nice It would be great to have better fans or air con in the rooms. Also to expand the spa in future years.

Great visit to Rothay Garden Hotel, Grasmere

Really enjoyable stay at the Rothay Garden Hotel. Room spotless as were all amenities and food in the restaurant excellent. Staff friendly and helpful. Hope to return next year.

Excellent hotel

Pleasant, friendly and helpful staff throughout the hotel. We were upgraded on arrival to a better room which was large with a beautifully lit bathroom with toiletries. We spent a relaxing hour in the spa, the hot beds are an excellent idea and I am missing it. The room was extremely well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The garden was fabulous and the restaurant beautifully designed to maximise the garden view.

Relaxing countryside retreat

Firstly this is our go to hotel in the Lakes. Been using this hotel for over four years now. As usual the staff are great throughout the hotel. The food at breakfast and dinner were excellent. Unusual for the UK I know but we had two days of sunny hot weather. We were allocated the on site wooden lodge adjacent to the Spa. Unfortunately the lodges do not have aircon, and being in the wooded garden we couldn't open the windows due to flying insects. Using a single fan in the bedroom didnt help. Maybe insect devices are needed along with aircon units. Ps. The spa was great and included in the roon cost.

The property was very nice clean and spacious, The food was that nice we stayed in both evenings to enjoy. The only complaint if any was the jacuzzi style plunge pool broke down on the first evening of our stay therefore it was not available throughout which is one of the main reasons we booked this hotel. The staff were very helpful throughout the stay.
