Don’t do it
First of all, I think it’s in poor taste and business practice by both the hotelsand hotels.com that they don’t disclose before booking that there will be a fairly large deposit required upon checking in. That won’t be refunded until well after your stay. This feels like bait and switch and trickery as you aren’t allowed to cancel your booking. However, the front desk person informed me they would do a lesser deposit and yet they still charge me the full amount, thus leaving me with essentially no money and stuck in the city. But even beyond that I didn’t care for the hotel. There were stains all over the walls. The locks in the room had clearly been broken off and reinstalled. The bed didn’t look like it had been made or changed at least and I found the overall experience to be rather sad and depressing. I couldn’t wait to check out and that’s not just because I’m trying to get my money back. I really just found the whole experience to be on the low end of things as far as hotels and motels go. I’m beginning to see that any hotel that is a Baymont is like this. Wyndham sullies their name by running these.
