For context, I’m a 29 year old male from the UK who stayed here for 9 nights on vacation alone, reasonably well travelled.
I usually book cheap accommodation when travelling - preference to save the money as I’m out most of the day anyway, safety being my main thing over cleanliness etc.
At £55/$70 a night only 10 mins from Downtown Nashville, overall I would say I had pretty good value.
Value is the key word though - the motel itself isn’t great and gets away with it with me because of the low cost. You get what you pay for.
The rooms aren’t clean - they’re tidy but the dust, the holes in the curtains and towels, broken lamp, and general dirt is not nice at all. If cleanliness is your thing, maybe avoid. No cockroaches spotted on my stay but I can imagine those who claim they have aren’t lying.
Staff were friendly throughout, although limited experience beyond checking in and out.
Safety… well… when in the room I felt fine. The first few days I would get a bus to downtown and back to save costs on Ubers. However…
WARNING: The area is not safe. On my fourth night, I got a bus back around 9pm in the dark and literally on the corner two men tried to lure me into an alleyway with a cry for help - luckily I am confident and street smart enough to have convinced them I’d be back in 2 mins to help, but those less quick thinking or less confident would likely have had the beating and robbing I was in for.
DO NOT WALK THE STREET AT NIGHT EVEN FOR A QUICK MCDONALDS
