fantastic if you're looking for a quick night stay, "cheap" stay, or weekend. we stayed in the shared bathroom/private bedroom accommodation and it was perfect. only downside is breakfast was not included whereas other stays in the area it is included. comfy bed, super clean, and along the main road. It is about an hour outside of town though:( perfect for a family! the shared bathroom type of rooms are close together.

Best place to stay!

My mom Liliya and I had the most wonderful stay at Hatchet Resort! From the moment we checked in, everything felt warm and welcoming. The cabin-style rooms were spotless, charming, and gave us the true mountain lodge experience we were hoping for. A huge thank you to Manager Pat — he made our stay extra special. Pat was incredibly kind, attentive, and always happy to help with anything we needed. He gave us great tips for exploring the area and went above and beyond to make sure my mom and I felt comfortable and cared for. The location is perfect for families — peaceful, safe, and close to the beauty of Grand Teton. We loved the on-site restaurant, the cozy outdoor spaces, and the relaxing atmosphere throughout the resort. I highly recommend Hatchet Resort, especially for families. With Pat managing, you don’t just feel like a guest — you feel like part of the family. My mom and I left with amazing memories and can’t wait to return!

Charming & off the beaten path

This little resort has charm, but it doesn’t offer the most comfy bed and no air conditioning if you’re used to it. Their cleaning staff was very thorough and made beds, emptied cans and replaced towels every single day. The owners should look at their rooms through the eyes of their patrons and determine niceties they could offer that wouldn’t break the bank. Better towels, updated linens, etc. One of the mattresses was in very poor shape.

Disappointed. Will not be back.

There were two good things about the stay. 1) Location. It was close to the horseback riding outfitter since we had a 7:30 am arrival time. 2) the bed I shared with my daughter was comfortable. There were numerous negatives: * the price. Definitely not worth $220 for one night in a no frills room with a shared bathroom * the wifi was terrible. phone reception the same. * the bathroom was not clean. the toilet took a long time to flush just urine. Good thing we didn't have to see what would have happened if there was something more substantial. *No resources for an early cup of coffee. No microwave or shared Keurig. * While the restaurant had good food, service and was open for a late arrival, they had a fly problem!!

Don’t book shared bathroom rooms

Be careful not to book a dormitory room. 1 small bathroom for 3 guest rooms, noisy (phone rang all night long), no electricity to charge your phone, people up all night long. Left a day early just to get away. Restaurant was excellent and the cabins were probably good too

My room and the shared bathroom were very clean, and things were quiet during my stay. There on-site restaurant and shop were convenient and let me focus on enjoying the parks!

Great but too many mosquitoes to enjoy

Wonderful property with everything you could need but the bugs are thick, even in the room. We killed mosquitoes the entire time. Love feeling the outdoors & roughing it BUT once we close the door to our room don’t want to feel it all night while sleeping & showering. Comfy bed but only one flat pillow for each. It was older & dark & our power was flickering in the bathroom. We got 2 rooms, one for my aunt & uncle which was upgraded & it was huge & very beautiful but hard to enjoy with door not sealing & bugs, mouse sticky pads, bats visible in the wood outside & could hear the bats in the bathroom.

It would be ideal if a little refrigerator w litttle freezer were in every room, just like all other hotels. It is an unneccesary hardship for guests to manage without one. We NEED to refrigerate meds and perishable food and drinks. They are not expensiive & could easily fit under the desk.

I loved the property and room. The food was excellent. The only thing I didn't like was the servers were perhaps understaffed but once they knew we were done with our dinner it took about 22 minutes for her to complete our check out. 15 minutes to bring the check, another 7 at least to bring back our card. Maybe I'm a Karen, but it felt like she neglected us while serving everyone else and engaging in conversations. Just get us checked out please, it's the last and easiest step of the process.
