This property is advertised as a 4-star hotel, but the experience was extremely disappointing and nowhere near that standard. Reception was only staffed from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., which is unacceptable for a hotel of this rating. Housekeeping was practically nonexistent. Beds were not properly made, sheets were only changed after four nights and only when we explicitly asked, and daily service amounted to towel changes only. Overall cleanliness was very poor, with dust everywhere, and we even found a strange and rather alarming insect in the sink.The linen quality was unacceptable: towels were shabby, worn, and even stained; quilts and pillows inside the covers were yellowed and stained. Curtains were torn, adding to the neglected feel of the room. We borrowed a kettle (against a deposit) and discovered it had a broken handle taped together, which is unsafe and unprofessional. The heating system was haphazard and not adjustable, running excessively hot at night. As a result, I was sweating heavily during sleep and ended up catching a bad cold.
Breakfast staff were friendly and the food was good, but the selection was very limited and identical every day.
I have been a loyal client of Hotels.com for many years, since when it was still Hotelclub, and this is the first time I am submitting a negative review, which makes this experience particularly disappointing. Overall, this hotel does not meet 4-star standards in any way. Even a 2-star classification would be generous.
